Effective, Inexpensive, Simple Security Device

If you scroll across the pictures on the link, I think it shows various style relays. I'd just make sure you specify in the notes the SRI-MG part number.

I think it might be a one man show, thus the lack of sophistication on the website. His instructions on installation actually used the picture I sent him of my fuse box (linked above), so if you order one it will probably come complete with my artwork, lol.
So if I order now, I’ll I have to do is insert the “SRI-MG part number.” In the notes field?

Awesome find, sir!

How about a siren that goes off inside the car that's so loud that it will make the thieves ears bleed. I doubt they would stick around to diagnose turning it off.

I think if you do that you'll be fine. Maybe also add "starter relay", in case there is a difference between that and the fuel pump relay. If you're nervous, there's an email and you can communicate with them to make sure you're on the same page.

This is a great post. Thanks for sharing the information. I'm definitely going to look at this as well for when mine arrives. This looks to be one of the most promising easy solutions yet.

Echo! Thanks @Mud Rat! Sent an email.

Hopefully between the following, I should be covered:
1. NoStart Relay
2. OBDSaver
3. Shock Sensor

Thanks!

I just got it this afternoon and have only tested it a dozen times or so, but y'all might expect some inconsistency in disarming the relay. I'm not sure of the range of the communication. It certainly won't be as smooth as the factory keyless entry or remote start. There were times I had to push the button more than once to get it to disarm. I think it is going to work pretty well from the drivers seat though.

Is there an audible sound when it’s armed/disarmed?

You can also cut through the steering wheel with a hacksaw in a few seconds and be on your merry way. As the Newark car thief in the video posted on the site a couple of weeks ago said, they leave the club laying in the parking spot where your car used to be.

Car thieves can also tow a TRX, and leave a blank space or smiley face sticker where the TRX used to be.

Or if you're in a hood-like area, if a thug is as brazen as what some are describing, a barrel of a pistol pointed at your forehead as you're about to get into your truck, will pretty much guarantee you'll hand over your key fob and let the guy take it.

Nothing is fail safe.

For most people, unless you think its gonna be stolen from your house/garage while you are sleeping... the Club would make most thieves....at least where I live think "Jeez...its broad daylight, in a Home Depot parking lot, it's not worth the time and people will see or the owner might be coming.

For me...the club will be perfectly fine. l'll use in parking lots at stores, etc.

At my house....zero chance. Alarms go off if someone goes into my garage or shop. I'll be out there in less than 20 seconds with a loaded gun willing to shoot anyone who looks like they need to be shot. Sheriff's deputy said..."you'll have no worries unless then entrance wound is in their back"

I'm going with the Club.

I get that others need something more.

Didn't hear anything. Once or twice I pushed the start button on the truck and the starter wouldn't engage, so I hit the relay fob again and the truck started as soon as I did (without touching the start button again).

Do you have to lock/unlock it each time? IE, can I leave it in an "unlocked" state if I'm parking in my garage? Thanks for sharing this & testing by the way!

Same question here. I live in a very remote area, but would like to have this when traveling. This looks like a very straightforward security device that would defeat most thieves. Thanks for sharing.

A drawback is it is necessary to use two fobs to start the truck now,
The site also has a hardwired transmitter activated by an on/off 12 volt signal. The site describes: "Activate the NoStart™ relay system using high beam control on the turn signal, a powered 12v door lock or unlock, a 12v parking light on/off, defroster switch or a hidden switch etc. . . When activated constant or on/off it will transmit 4 seconds to the NoStart™ relay allowing you 30 seconds to start your vehicle and will reset when the ignition is turned off.”

I think this means that if you connected it to your parking light circuit, when you lock/unlock the car truck with the fob and the parking lights flash, it would enable the truck to start for 30 seconds. Agree? That would eliminate the need to use two fobs, and would also allow remote start.

It automatically arms after about 30 seconds, no changing that.

I actually live in a rural area, garage kept, dogs outside, and most of the time will not use the device. I plan to typically keep my factory relay in place, and have the Mobilistics relay in the glove box or some such. If I'm ever in a situation where I am concerned about security, I'll just pop out the factory relay and install the Mobilistics, which only takes a few seconds to do.

Man, y'all are really pushing my technological expertise, lol. I could barely figure out how to post a link to the website. (That tells you how easy the device is, since I was able to install it.)

I'll try to work on a video this weekend for you.

It sounds like it would work, but that is nothing I explored.

haha! No worries at all. No need to, but thought it may be helpful to all folks to experience the sequence.
