Dram of the Day

Went out for a drive yesterday and swung by one of my favorite spirit shops and came home with this. Haven’t tried it yet

Finally got around to opening and trying the Jacob’s Pardon Small Batch American Whiskey Recipe #1.

Here's a little review of it and some of their other releases: https://www.drinkhacker.com/2021/02...an-whiskey-1-and-single-barrels-15-years-old/

Keep in mind this isn't a bourbon, it's what's called a 'rectifier' American whiskey. I am actually a fan of these types semi-experimental drams. I've mentioned that I like Old Potrero before and I also really like this one, albeit for vastly different reasons. By straying off of the straight bourbon restrictions a lot of unique tastes can be created and this is definitely unique. Is it worth the $100 Total Wine charges for it? For me yes and no. Yes because I'm glad to have tasted something unique, no because there are many better whiskeys at that price. So no regrets in buying it but I don't need to buy it again.

If you like different and interesting and have $100 to spare I would recommend it at least once.

Mil Grazie!!

I am off to see the Wizard........ Cheers

I'm intrigued by both of the above.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it but the Old Bones 10 year reserve has impressed me anytime I've gone back to it. To really open it up, take it down to 35-40% the first few times and I think you'll agree. It's complex with a lengthy finish of all sorts of sweet treats and spice.

Tonight I've got a classic on the menu that I got from my "dealer."

Cheers Fellas,

J

Anyone tried this? I saw this online and was intrigued by the name, and since it was $55 and I never met an Oban I didn't like, I ordered it...

La Gloria Cubana series r # 5 from the DR. It goes well with anything as long as you like it strong. One of my favorites.
