Delivery and First Service Checklist

Tbh a lot of the suspension stuff is repeats. So it’s not as many or as long as it looks.

If the truck is already on a rack doing the manufacturers PDI this should be done in 15-20 mins. Which means a shop hour.
I told granger ram that I wanted an actual mechanic to do it and not the oil change moe.
Because: A) you’re charging me full shop rate… B) I dont want someone dumber than me checking things

So we shall see.

Dealer said they wouldn’t use this list. So I offered to pay shop rate to give it a look over using this list.
Since I’ll be driving the 1750+ miles home. In the winter through the snow.

Anything else that I should add? About to print it off.
Highly recommend that you wait to use launch control or really get on it until you are home. I drove it 2300 miles from OH to CA in two days. Averaged over 12 mpg. I was a half mile from my home and tried my first launch and blew two coolant lines behind the SC. No PDI would have caught that the clamps were never actuated.

You are in the EXACT same position I was in back in March when I took delivery. When the truck came off the transport, I saw that it had around 15 miles. I then asked for the dealer to check the things on this forum's list since there had been so many reported problems. The dealer said he would do it for $200. I made the payment. When I picked up the truck to take home, it had 24 miles on it and a top speed of 84 mph. Out of an overabundance of caution, I took the truck to my own mechanic to have him inspect. We found bolts were loose on dampner, fill plugs hand loose such that it was clear they had never been torqued and differential fluid very low. I also found that a number of fuses were not properly seated. The damage to my truck could have been significant if I had not taken this extra step. It appeared the dealer had done little more than take the truck for a joy ride (as it was one of the first deliveries in the area). Dealer apologized and refunded the $200 and reimbursed me for the diff fluid that I had to buy, but if your dealer is resistant to absorbing the small expense of making sure that the truck is good and you are happy, I wouldn't trust them. take it to your own mechanic and have him do a once over. If you are in DFW area, I can give you a great contact. Best of luck.

I’m in Bay Area ca. I wish I knew of a good mopar mechanic out here.

@TReX-RAM are those lines/clamps not accessible with out taking a ton of stuff apart?

By the way, I should mention that I have owned this truck for nearly a year and haven't had a single problem. I changed dealers and the new dealer service has been off the charts - they came and picked up my truck, did 6k mile service with oil change, washed it and returned it to my home for FREE. All included. Wasn't really sure I was going to stick with Ram after coming from two prior Gen2 raptors that I loved, but this Ram and my new dealer have blown away my expectations.

Which has the good service? I'm not sure who i'm going to use when and or IF mine ever shows up.

From watching vehicles from many different brands go down the assembly line on you tube it is amazing they even start and run off the line.

Thank you sooooo very much

Don't finalize purchase or pay for truck, until they put it up on a lift and go thru the list items with you. It does not take long.

No fingers crossed, eventually one of these items is going to end up in some type of accident on the road. Why take the chance. Make the dealer selling it to you, prove it has non of re-occurring assembly issues.

I think at this point with ongoing longer term assembly issues, this is the posture all new buyers should take, before taking delivery.

You dont want to be stuck with a nightmare, you will have to take a huge beating on to get rid of.

Good Luck
Supercharger.
Pain in the ass.
Lol thank you so much

I'm now seeing that the '22 have an issue with the alarm not going off when you put it in drive and have the tailgate down......

Do we have any certified TRX technicians/mechanics that work at dealerships on this forum? We did have them on the tacomaworld forum and they posted the PDI list they were officially given from Toyota corporate. Would be interesting to compare that official list with the manually developed list here if we do have them on this forum and they're willing to publish. Would be nice to have an insider on here.....

Here is a ongoing list of things that people have found wrong when taking delivery, the guy who put this out put a fucking watermark over it so it’s kind of hard to read. I’ll try and find the one without a watermark and resend it

That's an interesting version of "the list". How are "checking both fuse boxes and pushing down all fuses" NOT on that list? It was definitely a big issue back when I took delivery on my '21 last September(and the only issue on mine). Maybe it's not an issue anymore?

Theres a few checklists out now I think. The OG one i think had the fuse box on it and had pictures from the issues thread.

Thanks for the list.

When delivered new with only 14 miles on the ODO, engine oil level was about 1/2" above the hash marks sitting right where there is a circle with a dot in the center of it on the dip stick. Drained about 1.25qts to get it to the top of the hash marks. Also have a kind of squeak that gets louder when in gear and get louder as the truck warms up. Thinking it may be an exhaust leak somewhere so digging into that next along with the rest of the fluid levels. Have only driven the truck 15 miles so won't be doing anymore driving until I go through the list.

Been a hot minute! With round one of 2023 deliveries around the corner, just wanted to see if there was any gouge available from those that have gone before. Any noteworthy items to add to the PDI list? Thanks in advance.
