Daily driving a TRX

What app is that. I’d like to track mileage in my current truck to see what I’m actually getting and not what the gauge cluster tells me.

Oh, and yeah I ordered a Lvl 2 White TRX yesterday.
Fuelly on the App Store 💪💪

I didn't get mine to be a DD, but it's what I've driven the most since getting it about a year ago.

The only annoyance to me is the size -- at least here in Northern California, it completely occupies a normal parking spot -- line to line. That makes it annoying to take into the proper downtown areas, but still doable. Also on the smaller super windy rural roads I tend to drive between houses, it essentially takes up the entire lane at all times. As long as you're paying attention it's not a problem.

99.9% of the time mine is in "custom" mode with comfort everything except steering (I like the heavier steering feel). I enjoy the big squishy trophy truck feel while whipping it around town or down windy roads.

Secretly, I wish I could get a non-extended cab version of the truck or even just a more old school "pickup" sized option with the same engine and options. But that probably wouldn't sell as well so.... :)

Just had a flashback to my Eaton supercharged lightning.

But yeah, that’s an issue I’m going to have as well… Parking. Lots of parking garages around me which I know this is not going to fit into. I just hope it fits in a casino parking garage lol. It will be my one and only vehicle for a while, but the SUV I just ordered my wife will fit everywhere so I can always take that when needed.

Mine is a daily, I got 26,000kms. It's has to baby seats in the back. No major issues at all. Been running the Incognito pulley for 22k or so as well. The only thing that sucks, is the rear heated and vented seats never get used because of the baby seats Hahaha. I also track my truck about 10 times a summer or so. Tires still looking good! Use caution when going through drive thrus and choose to park far away from everyone.

best of both worlds
You said it. You nailed it. Always wanted a super car but wouldn’t drive it enough and couldn’t write it off. TRX is the best of both worlds! Amazing daily driver. Over 20,000 miles on mine with zero issues and millions of smiles.

I have averaged 11.8 miles per gallon and I stand on it often and drive like a pissed off teenager. Ethonal free premium is the best option. Ethanal laced gas gets substantially worse milage. Only had to pump ethanol twice but noticed a dramatic worsening in milage.

Congratulations on your order. It will be worth the wait!

Size for me, as well. I love the look, the sound, and knew what I was getting in to with the gas mileage. The size is an annoyance.

We live in the city. When I take the family out, there's often a discussion of whether we're taking The Beast or mom's car based on whether we'll have to face a parking garage or parking will be tight. Combine the number of spaces this truck fills line to line with the defuses who can't park their mid-size SUV in even a normal sized space, and the truck's size becomes annoying. Also, many parking garages around here are 6'-8". We're 6'-9".

Out at the lake, i.e., country'ish, the height isn't an issue, but as @mikeh observes, you have to pay a bit more attention on the tighter country roads. Also, on some of the smaller roads, you've got to plan for two tires in the dirt when facing an oncoming F250/2500. After a rain, there's no hope of keeping the truck clean.

Of course, I forget all this when I dip into the throttle and hear the supercharger whine.

The best tires you can buy are Michelin Sport Cup 2 ! (kidding)
The only tires on the planet that look worn out, when you buy them brand new !

So far, with now just over 900 miles I have had zero issues using her as a DD. That said, I have had 3 Raptors and more recently two full size Ram 4x4 crew cabs. However, the past 4 months I had been using my 2-door Rubicon as my DD while waiting on the TRX. The Rubi 2-door is for sure easier to park but outside of that, I much prefer the TRX as my DD.

2000 miles so far. Always run in sport mode. Averaging 12.8 - 13.2 mpg. Very fun to drive. Drive daily. At work I drive a F-250 with the 7.3 V-8. Great work truck and average 12 mpg normal driving and 9-10 mpg pulling a cat mini excavator (305). Love the TRX

Which tires did you switch to out of curiosity? I really wish there was a better set of tires for ya know...going fast. That aren't...drag radials. Maybe I should've bought a demon.
Good luck on that, I'm running MT Baja. Only rated at 99MPH. Been looking around for something that is safer at higher speeds and haven't found anything yet. I will post here if I do.

They're safe for short bursts, but yeah something with better street grip would be nice. I drove a Porsche GT3RS at the track yesterday and was like MAN...wish I could bring my TRX out here and show these guys what fast really is. ;)

12.8 in Sport mode is impressive

My truck can’t get much above 10.5 in sport mode, never uses 8th gear on the freeway unless it’s downhill

One thing to note is the MPG that the vehicle states is definitely wrong. I was trying to get the best I could for a full tank and managed to get it up to 13 mpg reading..... Then I filled it up at the gas station and did the manual math and it was actually like 11.8 mpg.... I've been hand calculating wherever I fill up since and it is always wrong....

Mine consistently reads .8mpg high

I've had mine at 150 and still pulling pretty hard. (lots of mods of course). I didn't realize how fast I was going until after the fact when I seen my top speed on the dash. Was playing around with another on the highway and a little traffic, was watching the road and not the dash. Gets to 150 pretty quickly, I really want to know where it would top out at. I'm guessing around 170-180, it has the power, but a lot of weight and wind restriction as well. Big rolling mass going down the road for anything faster I would think.

Wow. That’s fast in a truck.

What’s the factory top speed limit on these trucks?

184 was where we stopped on the dyno. Not sure how "safe" that would feel on the road, probably not very.

Where'd you hit 150 at? I'm about to be very close to 900rwhp and I still have yet to hit 150. I don't have any stretches nearby where 150 would be guaranteed 100% traffic free.
