Compustar Pro T13

I just check. no issues using the remote start with the Drone t13 with LTE. ~ 2 weeks ago it also did an update. I have a 23 Level 2.
Well son of a b. do you have a key hidden in the truck?

Yes remote start on the drone app does not work. I installed the X1-LTE module. installer says it’s not compatible with 2023 ram
Works fine on my 23 TRX

Sounds like the installer didn’t clone the key properly during programming. That’s the purpose, remote start. What alarm module do you have, it’ll say under system > module in drone.

My Trx has the compustar no issues, it’s a 22. I have a 23 ram 2500 with the same
System, no issues.

@Exec_TRX That is rather unfortunate that they are useless. Seems like the Drone is the more popular opinion on GPS trackers. I have the 30 day trial of premium but I should be able to refresh the track tab and see where the car is at all times under the premium plan. It stays frozen on the wrong location for hours at a time and that was 72 hours after the install.

@marksouth from what I can see you are required to carry the OEM fob with you in addition to the Compustar FOB. You get the T13 and R5 fob when you buy the system. The R5 is smaller so you could use that as an everyday carry if you were okay with losing the functionality of the T13 fob.

Manual below

Thank you for posting the instructions :)
I feel generally lost as far as anything beyond lock/ unlock. EDC fob 😂

I have the DC3 module

It most definitely is available for a 23 ram, I have done dozens and was the first in the world to install a full compustar remote start/alarm, drone and then integrated an IGLA. There are several on this forum that I have installed it all on and are 23 model years. I just went and removed a whole system yesterday from a forum members vehicle because the dealer wouldn’t give extra for it all. Send me a text on my cell 270-312-8503 and I will look into it all. I guarantee I know what the issue is. They don’t know how to integrate them together but there is a way to get it working.

If you have an IGLA installed with a compustar setup you can just leave the trx oem fob in your center console and carry a compustar remote regardless of which model it is, q9, t11, t12, t13, r5 ect.

Just got the T13 installed on my TRX end of last week. The installer said that the latest connect update prevents cloning and that I can’t use the app to remote start? I have the system on another TRX, a demon, and an audi and they all work fine. anyone know how to get the remote start feature to work on the app on a 23 TRX? Thanks
Nvm about the IGLA integration issue, I see its just compustar dc3 with basic drone and a t13 remote kit. Text me and we will get it working, if it has to be done in person then thats a good reason to come meet and get an IGLA thrown in too 😊

Did you need a spare key in the vehicle?
Thats not how it’s done with these new units. The oem fob is cloned into the compustar by using a blade-al to save that signal and the vehicle thinks the oem fob is present and when it’s actually inside the vehicle it will allow the correct takeover and keep running. I don’t sleep much and will be up for a couple hours if you want to text me.

You should be fine then. I know people with the DC3 and MY23 without an issue. Sounds like faulty key clone during install
If the key clone didn’t take then it wouldn’t allow the extended programming in klon to continue and would flash led error codes. The t13 remote also wouldn’t remote start the vehicle either.

Saw a general thread about this in TRX Talk but I figured a thread in TRX Security would get into the nuts and bolts more about features, settings, troubleshooting, etc.

I find it interesting there isn't a popular Compustar or DroneMobile supported forum for user interactions and questions like you guys have on this forum.

Just got the T13 installed on Friday.

Working through some things and getting familiar with the device. GPS has been SUPER finicky in the sense that it freezes in a location for hours on end and when I get to my destination and shut the car off the dronemobile app will say the engine is off, however, it will still show me in the frozen location and it will show me the speed I was going when it froze. I saw this article from Dronemobile, however, I was thinking since I had mine installed on Friday I would be exempt from this since it was just installed. Going to talk to DroneMobile about this. https://help.dronemobile.com/s/article/DroneMobile-Manual-Reset-For-Failing-X1S-Units

also anyone with experience with the following:
  • Does turning off Aux1 or Aux2 on the T13 FOB under Aux Icon Configuration disable those Aux 1 or 2 outputs from being activated using the FOB (double tapping lock or unlock) or using the drone mobile app?
  • Are there other Aux outputs available for use that are activated when you enable "aux mode" on the fob?
  • I'm guessing that since the software isn't available on the compustar website that anything other than what is available in the fob settings needs to be brought back to the dealer for settings change. Getting some "fail" commands using the FOB that I'm guessing is being blocked by the software. Also was curious to see what the sensitivity settings and other settings looked like. Guess that's just the engineer in me but I understand it's probably a liability thing on the dealer but I also think it's time consuming for all if the user wants to play around with settings that they are blocked from.
Stop, your making my head hurt!

I have the exact same set up Compustar and Drone mobile and I signed up for the long term Drone Mobile subscription, although a little pricey it’s worth it for me.

I don’t even use a Compustar FOB, it really does nothing for me, my factory FOB initiates the CompuStar alarm system and the Drone Mobile is always active truck on or not. Having the Compustar FOB Annunciation and whatever else it does is all covered by the Dronemobile app so between those two with the apps on my phone, everything I need to know works on my phone, I get alerted on my phone and then I get alerted on my Apple Watch and that’s about all my brain can handle. O’ya…… I forgot to mention that I’ve got the Blackvue front and back camera system along with cellular connection, which is just another layer of always knowing what’s going on with my truck either on or off, parked or not, it’s a great last layer of security for me.

I said this before but, I never really gave a shit whether or not my truck got stolen before this one because if it did, the insurance company just paid off and I went to the dealer and bought another one but not with his truck. Your truck gets stolen and the insurance company pays it off and then you go through the freaking Russian roulette, mind game of ordering one and then watching the forum every day, checking up on it to three times a day and then it’s like planning an exotic vacation six months in advance and it seems like it takes forever to get there so for that reason I got a little overboard on the whole alarm and tracking thing.

If you don’t have IGLA installed I highly highly recommend you go back to the installer and have them turn the “oem fob control of aftermarket alarm” off and then turn passive entry off in uconnect. They relay/clone your fob or someone finds/steals your fob then your vehicle is gone. With it the way you have it your alarm will never go off, they would be inside you vehicle doing whatever they wanted including removing the whole Compustar system with tracking in just a couple minutes while deleting and making a fob.
I just went and removed a full compustar and IGLA and was texting, talking on the phone, talking things up ect and still took me 10-15 minutes.

Just an FYI, you having the oem fob controlling the compustar arming is a really bad idea. They clone or relay your fob signal and touch your door handle or unlock your doors and goodbye trx. The oem control of factory alarm needs to be turned off on every install because you will never get the alert and the alarm will never go off because they disarmed it
I don’t have the proximity future tuned off, just don’t like it And I beg to differ, my Cumpustar and Drone can be turned off and on, just have your factory FOB programmed to do so. I just can’t do the “two FOB“ in my pocket thing and if I could I wouldn’t carry any FOB in my pocket.

I just hate having anything in my pockets, in fact I can’t wear a wallet, my dad carried a wallet in his rear Levi’s pocket that was as thick as a Big Mac, he carried everything in that stupid wallet. I use a money clip and the back of my iPhone my case will carry four cards. My Mastercard, my American Express, card, my health insurance card, and my concealed carry weapons permit card and that’s all I need.

My two cents and that’s just how I roll!

Your not understanding what I am saying, proximity has nothing to do with it. The compustar main unit itself needs to be hooked back up to the computer and the setting that says “oem control of aftermarket alarm” should as in highly highly recommended if you don’t have an IGLA turned off so the oem fob cannot turn the compustar alarm on and off. Nothing turns drone off except unplugging it and if its the battery backup one then opening it and unplugging the battery. Its half pointless getting an alarm where they can relay/clone your oem fob and then unlock it turning the compustar alarm off and then starting it up and leaving. Its your vehicle but I personally would carry 3 fobs if that means its more secure. Leave the T13 at the house off and use the included R5 remote. $0.02

Oh, technically with a compustar/IGLA package and the oem fob control off and good cell phone serve you don’t need to carry anything except a smartwatch or your cellphone. The R5 remote is also a bit thicker than a 50c piece. You can leave your oem fob in your center console and rock on 🤷‍♂️

did it have the ignition kill wired in? I'm hoping with that feature it would take more time removing these from the car considering you will have to hook that back up before starting the car.

Also 100000% agree with you on the OEM fob controlling the Compustar. That defeats one of the main reasons to get the Compustar in the first place. The installer should know better.

Relays take a second or two to defeat, small wire or paperclip or connect 2 wires. Wiring ignition relay kit in with an IGLA is useless, can’t start an IGLA equipped vehicle so cutting ignition to prevent it from starting is unnecessary. If you are talking about the newer push to start security integration kit, no it didn’t, pre relay install snd it would add another 2-3 seconds to bypass

Yeah push to start integration kill I'm guessing is what I have on the Compustar.

Well shoot. I was hoping it was more difficult to determine exactly which wires needed to be connected but 10 min is a pretty long time if the alarm is operating (they would probably go for that first) and you get a push notification. Would hope that's too long and it would deter someone from sticking it out and stealing the car.
