Colorado TRX Owners

I ran into the same with all of the Colorado dealers, ended up going with a dealer in Nevada with 5k over on an LE. I don't think you did too bad there are lots of people paying way more in ADM. Congrats on the order!
Thanks. I like that Anvil Grey.

I’m in Durango. Ordered it locally and paid zero ADM. Still awaiting my VIN. ?
I went with the darker grey and the level 2 package with Harm8n Kardon, bed and tow packages added. Final build came in at $81k. Dealer is charging me $77k. Seems like my dealer is awesome or they are so low on the FCA list that I won’t get the truck til 2022. Pretty sure it’s not the latter.

Hope you were able to miss the Troublesome fire explosion. Was super scary for that area of the county. Several friends with places up on those lakes, and a few lost their houses.

We were not impacted. We did see the Troublesome fire on the last day of our trip. We also could clearly see Cameron Peak fire while we were in Windsor...looked like a volcano erupting. Glad to read the last snow storm has been helping.

Colorado peeps, the wife and I are constantly watching YouTube videos of 4x4s roaming the trails of the Rockies. We are hoping to be able to do some family camping via forest service trails, how feasible will this be in the TRX? Will it be too big? We are also looking to join a 4x4 club in NOCO once we arrive since we are 4x4 noobs, any suggestions? I found this club via google: http://mountaineers4x4.org/

Good to hear. That fire came into Grand Lake like a freight train from hell.

More than feasible. There are some areas that will be too tight if you want save the paint, but there are plenty of 4x4 trails everywhere of all shapes and sizes. Whole state is a playground. I take my truck now on a ton of Forrest service/BLM roads for fishing, etc. I’ve never been into it enough to join and 4x4 group, but do plenty outdoors up in the hills that takes me on some gnarly trails.

Hey, Golden, CO here. Have a bright white on order. No VIN yet. Gosh I wish I would have seen this earlier. I was suckered into ADM. I similarly got quotes of 10k, 15k and 25k over. Groove in Silverthorne was going to order at MSRP, but had no allocation, so FCA wouldn't accept. Wish I would have tried Johnson. That has to be the one dealer I didn't try. I ended up getting the dealer closest to me to drop their mark up, but still paid 5k over.

Pissed about it, but still super excited for the truck.
Johnson Auto Plaza is absolutely the best !!!

The TRX will do fine. It will probably do way more than you will be comfortable doing at least early on. HiElevation is correct about some narrow trails. But mostly it’s just scrub oak and other greenery which leave what we like to call “Colorado Racing Stripes” on the sides of your vehicle. But you can easily avoid those trails. Just go higher in elevation.
One piece of advice I would give you is to stay off Black Bear until you are an expert. Or this could be you:

lol, I've been watching the Black Bear videos, def something to aspire too. The view looking down into Telluride looks incredible. I plan on tackling offroading like everything else I have aspired to be skilled at, one step at a time and learn from others and my own mistakes.

Hey all I live out in Strasburg CO. Ordered a TRX out of a ram dealer in Montrose CO at MSRP and no down payment l.

Congrats on the order. I recommend you do put a down payment. At least pay for tax/title/license up front...financing fees is not a good practice. A 20% down payment will make it much easier to walk in to the dealer and take whatever financing they offer and then refinance it with whatever bank you want from the comfort of your couch after taking delivery. This is how I have been able to, historically, limit the time spent being scowled at by my wife for hours at a dealership. Just my 2 cents, if you dont want to put a down payment it is your money.

Or if you are able, even easier would be just pay cash in full

Congratulations on your purchase, looks like we are getting more Colorado folks embracing the TRX. I live in Broomfield Colorado and will be going to the Walden sand dunes in April and likely going to coordinate a trip with the folks in Colorado that own a TRX. Will be sure to keep you on the list.

Let’s hope we get our trucks before March 1!

Yes, this is usually true, unless you can find an investment that you can put your 80k toward that will return an amount greater than the interest that you are paying on the truck. With the way things are right now I will probably be following tkdr6's advice and buying mine for cash, but YMMV.

Also, sorry for posting up your Colorado page...I know that I am in Texas...but I am from Seattle (also not Colorado), I love the mountains, and it is too hot, flat, and full of mosquitos here, so this enables a little bit of make believe for me. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

we are trading in our paid off 2015 Yukon Denali so that should be around 30k ish

What dose everyone do for employment around here?

Outstanding! That means you’re saving a reasonable amount on the sales tax as you only have to pay sales tax on the difference of the trade. However, here in Colorado ownership tax and registration fees are extremely expensive for new vehicles and usually based off of MSRP. I called my local county motor vehicle department and they’re quoting me about $1700 of ownership tax and registration fees.

Colorado has a very strong economy and you’ll find folks here in very diverse careers, from blue collar to white collar, and from standalone entrepreneurs to folks working for large brick and mortar companies.

I’m an architect and have extreme case of OCD and being over meticulous (great for my line of work), which means these forums scratch my itch as I eagerly wait for my TRX but this forum also drives me insane because sometimes I need a break from this truck to not just think about it for two months and hope it magically appears in my driveway as a pleasant unexpected surprise!

No worries at all, Colorado is a beautiful state and meant to be shared with our entire country. I hope you get the opportunity to bring your new truck out here and have loads of fun testing it to its full capabilities
