Awesome. Thanks for this. Going to call a couple tomorrow to see how long a rate can be locked in for since I’m still ~60 days away from getting my Trx.A list of low rate credit union that basically open to tons of the people.

Thank you for sharing with the community. I went through Lightstream (formerly SunTrust) and got 3.99% on an unsecured loan. Meh rate, but not as bad as all of the local banks. As long as I make double payments for the first two years, I should save a few grand in interest.Update for anyone still looking for loans.
I just got off the phone with FedChoice, their rate as of today is "as low as 2.64%" - and NEW members get a 1% discount (but it is capped at 1.99% for up to 72 months).
I applied to be a member a few weeks ago, and they wanted more info from me (proof of residence, and a scan of my social security card) which I am doing today.
I was also told they will hold an approved auto loan for 60 days, so I am still debating when I should apply since my truck is still not built yet (but according to my dealer, its in production).
Just wanted to update everyone on low rates, as this is pretty damn low at 1.99%
thanks for sharing man. I’d guess if it’s in production you’d definitely get the truck within 60 days but who actually knows these days. Anyway if they’re currently doing the 1.99% they’ll probably keep that same rate for at least until the fed does the next rate hike which is September 21st if I’m not mistakenUpdate for anyone still looking for loans.

I honestly don’t know if I’m in the geo location or not, I’m in PA. They haven’t said anything to me about it yet and I’ve talked to a few different reps and have had a few messages back and forth getting the correct documents to open an account. So far I think I’m good to go.For those that live outside of the Fed Choice area double check if you’re eligible to join. The “membership” criteria list geographic locations

That’s what a lot of my buddies do who buy out of state or can’t get an approved auto loan fast enough. They buy it though the dealer at their “best” rate, and within 30 days refinance it through their credit unions.Any idea which/if any of these CUs restrict out of state purchases? My CU in San Diego refuses to finance an out of state purchase. Said I'd have to finance somewhere else and re-fi with them.
That is what I did, was after a few months though. Interest rate went down almost 1% and will save about $12k if i pay it to term over the next 5 years. But i double up on the payment every month to pay it off faster so I have more money for upgrades laterThat’s what a lot of my buddies do who buy out of state or can’t get an approved auto loan fast enough. Just a bunch of shit to go through but in the case of 5% vs 2%, I think it’s worth it.
Just picked up a TRX yesterday using USAA financing. 72 months is up to 3.89 now. I got 63 months @ 3.59Just financed 6 years at 3.49 at USAA with autopay. Beat my regular bank (NFCU) by .3.
