HOT! 2022 Ram TRX Sell Down & 2023 Ram TRX Plans at Granger Motors

Instead of having the PDI guy drive it 10-14 extra miles to get premium, have you thought about just offering a gas card with purchase or allowing the customer to go fill it at the Grimes Kwik Star (or whichever station you're filling at) themselves on your account? Maybe lean on that Casey's next door to get a Premium pump? Just a couple thoughts since I think most customers picking up new custom ordered vehicles don't like to see them with more than 10miles on them.
That gas card idea is brilliant.

Yes please clarify this. Are you saying they will stop making the 2022’s at the end of June?
AFAIK they'll still make them through middle/end? of August. The sell down means when they stop taking orders (soon), they'll continue to build out those outstanding orders through the changeover to the 23 model year.

Ram put out an internal memo telling the plant workers to be careful last year and stop throwing the flares around with pictures of them laying on the floor stacked on top of each other with no protection on them. They obviously haven't gotten the point a year later.

With all the ADM dealers out there charging several thousand over MSRP or doing bait & switch tactics, helping out the dealers who save customers several thousands of dollars easily should earn a great review. Two flares on my TRX were scratched to hell, I didn't blame the dealer for it. I put the fault at Ram for letting it leave the plant faulty especially after I have photos of multiple TRX's scratched up in the plant similar to mine.
I agree!...And for me it is a lot more than several thousand, more like 25 thousand as I am price protected form the 5K MSRP increase, saved 9K off MSRP and all dealers around me are 10K over original MSRP on used 2021. Have been waiting for 8 months and still don't have a truck, maybe mine will be scratched if it ever arrives but will totally support Zach with this if I get the chance!

@Zach@Granger are you strictly speaking about orders going forward? I know I got an email for a survey after purchase but the link was dead so I never filled out any survey. Maybe I clicked on it too late. Not sure if you are talking about the link you sent or Ram sent as I think there were 2 different ones
I believe ram sends out 3 emails after purchase. One at 3 days, one around 2 weeks and one at 30 days. We receive credit when the survey is returned, so we can still get credit from a past purchase.

Zach,
This is a couple questions hopefully that can cover other out-of-state folks. I want to do the survey but I am still D1 without a clear idea of when I will take delivery.
How long does this survey last?
When is the last day to submit this survey?
What options are available for those still waiting for their trucks that have not had experience to talk about except speaking and placing their order?
For out of state folks that do fly in to receive they vehicle, what options are available that your team can assist with? Does your team provide assistance after a customer takes/drives home their vehicle to their home state and have them work with you and their dealership or just their dealership?? (i.e. scratched fenders, paint, other damage found during PDI.)
or do you handle each truck and hold onto until you can get items fixed then plan to have customer come out to take receipt of vehicle?

I definitely want to provide positive feedback because overall this would be beneficial to ALL players (dealerships and future customers). If you received positive feedback last year and this allowed me to break my bank to get a 2022 then I would want that opportunity for others. I, just like a few others, are in this limbo area where we are still D or D1.
You'll receive the survey after we mark the vehicle sold in Stellantis' system. You have 45 days approximately to fill it out.

Zack, is there any recourse you have to complain to Stelantis about these issues? This really needs to get resolved at the plant level. They should be able to figure out how to put together and deliver a truck without scratches. This should be mandatory on a 20k car let alone a 100k truck. I would hope you guys could get the attention of someone higher up to get some results. I feel your pain and if I ever see my truck, will plan on giving 100% marks. I appreciate what you are trying to do here and hope you can get some help from the manufacturer.

DEALERS LIVE AND DIE BY THE SURVEY... Its beyond important.

Bump on this post. @Zach@Granger
1- They will continue to build 2022 orders past this month. They just won't take any more orders for 2022. I believe in the plant the 2022s will be built through August or September before the switch over to 2023 will happen.
2- I don't imagine a large number of 2022s will get moved to 2023, but in the case a few get bumped, they will be put in line with the rest of the 2023s, at least that is my understanding.
3- Again, I think its an unlikely occurence, but if there are cancellations we'll be notified as a dealership.

Yes, we have an appeal process. From my understanding there have been no succesful appeals.

@Zach@Granger Thank you sir!

I see it as a positive move that Stellantis is pushing the bar high for dealers and raising standards for buyer experiences. There are so many write-ups of buyers experiencing so many disappointments, and even dishonesty, by dealers nowadays. I like it that feedback is reviewed and has some consequences, good or bad, since that which is measured is done as the saying goes.

Being fair and looking out for others is a two-way street. Dealers like Granger/Zach who go way out of their way to offer high-demand vehicles like the TRX at discounted prices should be treated well on the surveys unless there's something terribly wrong that Granger is not addressing. Sometimes there are misunderstandings or mistakes but so long as the issues are being resolved it should not lead to gotcha's on surveys or the like.

Fortunately for me buying from Granger was a 10/10 type of experience so leaving a very positive survey (other than bashing Stellantis over the repeated misinformation on delivery dates to Granger!) was easy. Even if I had a few glitches with Granger I felt then and now that I could trust Zach and the team there to make things right. Amanda made it clear when I picked up my TRX how important the survey was. I was glad I could give a little something back by relating 10/10 treatment by Granger.

I hope that Granger/Zach can remain a leader in offering great discounts on high-demand vehicles for years to come.

I completely agree with you.

That said, Stellantis doesn't care. And they're not doing this for the right reasons, in my opinion -- no manufacturer cares enough to spend that effort. If the dealership ends up with lower ratings for a reason that is not the dealership's fault, the manufacturer has almost never cared.

If you want Zach and Granger to remain a leader and supporter on here, we all gotta support them in return.

Because of what I said above regarding my opinion on the manufacturer's surveys, I have never ever given a dealership that I've wanted to maintain a relationship with anything lower than 10/10 on surveys (and I'm, thankfully, at the point where I don't buy only one car from a dealership, and I don't bother with a purchase unless I plan to build a relationship).

THIS!!!

I just put picked mine up last weekend and it was a pleasant experience overall. I would say the truck was dusty enough outside to not be able to really evaluate it for scratches and other blems. (Black truck problems) I’d say the detail of the truck on the inside was lacking as well. I have great scores on the survey because everyone was great to deal with and you have us a really good price I’m just giving my feedback because I know some of these guys are super picky and feel like they should be pampered because the trucks are so expensive but the reality is you are not making big margins on them but rather volume sales.

As far as I can tell I never received a survey email. I have one for ram connect but that’s not the one. What email address does this come from?

Thanks

THIS. I picked up May 19th and haven’t seen any survey besides the ram connect - even checked junk… I have no issues with 10s across the board either…

It sounds like you guys should be ordering fender flares to have on hand rather than asking customers to lie on the surveys. I understand that you want to be able to keep the discounts intact to retain the high volume of sales and profit but if it's a known defect that is routinely hurting you then the ability to repair quickly should be your first solution.
Bro this man saves us 10k on our trucks. While I agree that you are correct… stfu and click the damn button!
