It's funny, back in the 90's my GMC Syclone ran 1.6 - 60ft times and 12.3 on a turbo V6. The truck was modded but everything was done through the EPROM and exhaust. That little fart would spin all four wheels at launch.

I only recently realized how quick the Syclones were. I remember seeing sub 300 HP numbers, and always assumed they were overhyped for their era. This video gave me a new appreciation for the syclone.

Back when GM was progressive........not regressive like they are today.
They were smoking the new Vettes of the same model year, it was really something to see!

Track/Location = Famoso raceway, Bakersfield CA
1/4 Mile Time/MPH = 11.434 @ 121.05
Year / Model / Trim = '21 TRX Level 2
Date = 8/13/22
Tires = Stock
Mods = Running on 85, Pulley upgraded upper and lower, bigger injectors and fuel pump
Track Conditions = Temp 98 F, 3-5 mph head wind, 615' elevation
DA= 3405

This was my results from last night racing unfortunately I don't think it will do any better on stock tires the struggle of the night was to get a decent launch without spinning I had best results at 18 psi but even that still spun and with traction control on it was worse.

Dragy fun run:

46F, 839ft, DA -160ft 😁

60ft: 1.77
330ft: 4.97
1/8: [email protected]
1000ft: [email protected]
1/4: 12.00 @ 111.36

0-60 on that run was 3.68 if anyone is curious (dash said 3.5 - same as Dragy 1ft rollout).

Full weight with 1/2 tank of gas. LC at 2000rpm in Sport mode.

Power mods: Incognito (holding 13psi) and aFe Momentum GT.

Unofficially in the 11's! lol

Same mods as my post above. Sport mode. LC @ 2k. Spun a bit through 1st gear. 0-60 attached as well (same 3.68 as before, but the 1' is a little quicker).

Interesting to look at the slope - the 0-60 run shows slightly uphill, but the 1/4 shows slightly downhill 🤷‍♂️

Also interesting how the Performance Pages says the truck is faster than Dragy 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The way these onboard performance timers on all cars are being used as gospel is out of control. The c8 corvette is one of the worst out there. The corvette fanboys are standing their ground that it is accurate. lol. so stupid. I have one and can tell you that it will Not do what they claim. Get a draggy or a v-box or go to the track........

is there a transmission tune that helps? i have a 2.85 upper and running 15-16 psi boost, but i cant stop wheel spins and the traction control coming on for an instant ?

Sport mode turns traction control off.

Are you locking the rear diff?

not all the way off theres still a "nanny" in the background and when the tires spin she kicks in,,,,,
Maybe Baja mode. I know when off roading in Baja mode it will blow the tires completely off.

NO,,,, never thought about that :)
I doubt it has to do with locking the rear differential. If you are in Sport Mode and feel the truck hesitate after spinning, what you are feeling is likely the FSO (Fuel Shutoff), which is part of the torque management system. You can have your tuner turn it off if they are comfortable with making those kind of adjustments. It will make a night and day difference, however it can be a little harder on the transmission given the weight of the truck.

The other thing to play with is how you are launching and also ensuring the tires aren’t cold. The best launch I get is to brake torque and hold at about 1500 rpm and then, if your tires are warm, going WOT at the same time you come off the brake.

Given you are in Toronto and if the pavement AND tires are cold, you may have to roll into the throttle to keep traction, but shutting off the FSO should help with the “Nanny” feel.

The truck without a doubt hooks better locking the rear diff! also hooks better when in high 4x4.
