My Story- 2021 Ram TRX

They look great and are the only fixed steps I would consider. I really like my Mopar Power Running Boards, but not sure I want to hassle with putting them on the TRX I'm looking to buy.
One other option to consider. It has a little bigger step than the Mopar Rock Rails.

You will change your mind as soon as you get the truck. I had mopar power boards on my limited, loved them. Especially when my short wife had to step up on them to put my kid in the baby seat. With this tall ass truck I feel like it is a must for kids, short wives/gf’s, and if you are not shaq’s size, you will probably want em too. Good luck deciding

Took a little drive to get out of the house. Took the Skalkaho Highway from Hamilton, MT to just south of Philipsburg, MT. Just an excuse to get outside really. Not great pictures. Truck rolled over 20,000 miles today.

Montana has to be the most amazing state. I’ve been trying to convince my wife to move there for over 20 years.

It took me that long to convince my wife to move to North Idaho, from Cave Creek, AZ. Now that she's here, she wouldn't move back. Summertime in Phoenix is much harder for me than winter in North Idaho. I can dress for cold.

That’s amazing. Northern Idaho is also awesome. The Phoenix summers are terrible. Especially when welding.

I love the Scottsdale area for a week in January. We come down for Barrett Jackson and a stop at Frank and Lupe’s. The SW has amazing landscape. I can see why Raptors and TRX’s are good down there. I could live down there from January through April.

Other than the summer, it’s pretty nice here. There is a lot of desert that makes anything offroad capable really fun for sure. We had a blast in our TRX for sure. I can’t wait for the next one to arrive.

I remember the heat... "It is a dry heat"...hmmm. I visited the Honeywell training facility several times back in the early 2000s...that "dry heat" at 112-4F on the black asphalt parking lot was brutal in June while I was walking from the parking lot to the classroom. But I did enjoy the nights when the sun went down and it was like 65F.

Even though I hate the heat, Phoenix was good to me and I enjoyed my time down there. It just got to the point that I hated 6 months of the year...May through October. After 20 years of Phoenix heat, I still hate summer, even though summer in Idaho is pretty nice. 🤣 I like fall, spring, winter, and summer, in that order. Winter can get old, but for me it's just December, January, and February.

That dry heat myth was annoying. It is routinely 110°-115° in the summer and on June 26, 1990 it was 122°. A hot and humid day in Florida or Texas can't hold a candle to 122°. On super hot days like that, the lows would be in the upper 90's. I remember driving past banks with temperature signs reading above 100° at midnight.

And here I fled SoCal, close to the ocean, because it was too hot for me. And humid, of course.

Because of the low humidity, I feel better here when it's 20 degrees than I did in CA at 60 degrees. While fall and spring are great, I don't mind winter. Summer would be okay, if it wasn't for all the tourists.

One more angle from the other night.

Great looking truck! I'm looking to add lights to mine to help spot the Kamikaze deer here in Tennessee. Of all the different lighting styles you have which do you like the most for usable light down range, and have you noticed if either of the two light bars interfere with cooling? I had the Baja designs 30" OnX6 on my previous Ram 2500. it was amazing how bright it was. Thanks buddy.

I’ve had zero issue with cooling. Even hot days where I’m just crawling the truck does fine. You hear the fan kick on, but it’s not anymore than usual.

The Oracle Light Bar puts more light down the road, and then the Rigid lights behind the grill kind of fill in the middle area in front of the truck. My guess is Baja Design would be brighter, but the Rigid are pretty good and the price is better. What surprised me is the Rigid Ditch Lights. They really shine on the side of the road where most light bars don’t. They aren’t real long distance, but they sure do light up the shoulders where the kamikaze deer come from. The yellow Diode Dynamic isn’t super bright, but it really cuts down the glare on snowy roads.

Below is from an earlier post in my build thread. Pictures are taken with an iPhone, but you get the idea.

Do you recall what pattern you got on the Diode Dynamics 30” bar? We also had the 30” bar on our TRX and it put out great light. We had the driving pattern on ours.
