HOT! You hear it. AWE 0FG Exhaust Suite, available now

Exhausts are a tricky thing especially just cat back systems. You kinda have to hear them in person. Youtube vids and peoples reviews help and are generally what you make a decision on. I really like to see independent same day dyno sheets but most manufacturers either game them or won’t provide (Generally. Not saying anything negative about awe. Have heard good things about their products).

Based on the info provided so far I think you would be happy with their system. To my ear it sounds better than the others I have heard over video.

To answer your other questions.

cut outs are just a valved mechanism which allow you to choose between routing the exhaust gas through the mufflers (stock sound) or skip the muffler (louder

straight pipes are exhausts which have no muffler. They are just tubing until the tips. These can be tuned aftermarket like I understand AWE to be or simply replacing the muffler section with straight tubing.

You don’t need headers to make the sound you want.
Bambi, thanks for your response. I have read a lot of your posts throughout the forum and appreciate your insight!

No problem. This stuff can be overwhelming. When I’m not being a provocative troll I sometimes have knowledge about stuff.

Typically our Touring Edition produces a more refined note with no flow restrictions compared to a Borla ATAK. Our patented 180 Technology Resonator is a straight-through resonator and makes the same power as a straight pipe while refining tone and killing drone. No perforated core, no restrictions. Lifetime warranty and T304L stainless. Quality we stake our 30 year reputation on. Our Touring Systems are on Jeep Trackhawks and Challenger/Chargers making significant power with no issues - and no restriction.
If it is not to much trouble can you post the dyno numbers for the TRX Pipe. Forgive me for being blunt but I love the sound clip! Been doing this high HP and exhaust thing for many years but everyone says their pipe makes "significant power" It is just one of those things that everyone in the industry does. :)

Not sure that they’ve said “significant power”. Take a look at this site if you haven’t seen it yet and scroll down to the verbiage. They list gains for the different Challenger engines. Assuming the TRX is most like the Hellcat then the gains (10 hp and 9 ft lbs torque) certainly aren’t significant so one would buy for the sound. There are sound clips within the pages too. Enjoy!!

i could gain that much hp, but putting an icepack on top of my blower then doing a dyno pull. Boosted cars actual power output will swing considerably just based on how timing is advanced or retarded by the ecu.

I would be looking at how much the rate of air its taking in before and after, if I wanted to quantify actual power increase, which i still think is little to none for a catback on a vehicle that has massive cats.

The AWE setup still sounds decent at startup, and no load rev, but will have to wait n see.

Shit if thats an honest 10/9 at wheels I will take it all day. Lots of these applications make zero additional power. Many many exotic car exhausts actually lose power to sound like a formula car.

Yes understood. I was just quoting the Manufacturer Rep's post. I can believe 5 to maybe max 10hp but after that need to see dyno charts.

Sure does sound good. Depending on the price just might do it. Am watching this thread closely.

He may have been referring to the vehicles making “significant power”

“Our Touring Systems are on Jeep Trackhawks and Challenger/Chargers making significant power with no issues”

But this is really good stuff, so looking forward to getting one of these systems installed.

I'd encourage you to take a listen to our systems on other 6.2L SC SRT offerings like the Hellcats and Track Hawks. What attracted me to working here was the time and care that AWE engineers take in the acoustic tailoring of the sound. Being a guitarist myself (with more guitars than skills), I appreciate the way we tune not only for power, but for tone and reduction of drone. Built right here in Pennsylvania with a Lifetime Warranty. Roc

Being we are PA homies how about a discount code, kidding but not really kidding lol

Yes, my point was stock you will pick up some power, but tuned there is no restriction to hold you back (mufflers, etc). Our 180 Technology cans are literally straight through with sound ports strategically located for each application to capture specific sound waves and cancel them out (Drone killing). On applications like the TrackHawk where we offer 2 systems, they both make the same power on the dyno here. We use an Mustang AWD dyno. (The Heartbreaker). HHP and others are making 800whp with our systems on the car with a host of supporting mods... so it's more of peace of mind that an AWE system will not limit your future power mods at all.

Here are some sounds captured at our test strip. 100% exhausts sound better in real life than video... so much more resonance from the pavement, surround environment, etc... you FEEL this system, but it will not punish you in the cab when you are cruising.
