God damn. Haven’t been able to make it through his fathers eulogy. I don’t do funerals well. I’m a big bitch. Didn’t even know this guy, realistically the only interactions we had were some likes and reactions of each other’s posts. But for some reason this hurts.

Would anyone have interest in some stickers? Designed one already but looking for interest/feedback. Might make it for the trucks or maybe just a regular sticker for coolers. Not sure my intention yet. Thinking about 4"x1" or so. Simple and small. It would be dye cut so just the text in white with black outline. No background View attachment 26195

As for the TRX and Pantera, they will both live on to honor and remember Josh. Perhaps there is even a Baja run in the future for "Gertrude."

I've also talked with some of you about an honorary trail run. I'd love to meet all of you one day, and continue Josh's legacy of saying the most irreverent things over beers and whiskey. When we get out of winter, I'd like to organize a trail run in Oregon for his last home, and trail run in San Diego for his original home. Y'all will just have to keep up with a puny Raptor.

@Bambi's Brother I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t realize Bambi aka Josh was Josh Gaffen. My wife came to me the same day of your original post and said that her old co-worker Josh, the son of Pam and Gaf who she worked for for over a decade had passed away recently. I told her a good man named Josh on the TRX forum also had passed away at the same time. I thought it was a strange coincidence, but turns out to be the same person. On here, he was the king of the memes and made me laugh many times with his stories. In the real world, he and the rest of the Gafcon family was like family to my wife and still is… much love from our family to yours!

Hi all, I trolled Bambi this morning and found this little nugget. This was Bambi's memorial from the 30th (Saturday).
It is lengthily, heartfelt and even funny at times. His father and brother-in-law both talk about Josh's TRX and the TRX forum and Bambi's affinity for both. There was also a mention of a baja run.
The memorial is three hours long which my ADD can't handle today. Here are some highlights, his dad gives a eulogy around 24 to 38 minute mark and his sister and B-I-L (ford Raptor guy @Bambi's Brother ) from 38 to 50 (ish)
(I have to get back to work so I will finish it tonight)

THAT WAS QUITE THE MEMORIAL. WoW. Thx for sharing...always nice to hear and see nice things about nice people. RIP bud.

Thanks for posting this buddy. Very touching. Josh's father, brother and Oregon-neighbor summed up the man we came to know here on the forum. (neighbors comments at 1:02) Definitely interested in helping with the Bambi Baja Run! I can be the bar tender...don't like getting my hands dirty any more LOL.

@Jackson Very well said. I have been in a funk and felt like I needed some closure for whatever reason and I think I found it this week.
Bambi would want us to move on and I know his ass would make some stupid joke(s) about us if the tables were turned.

For the vast majority of us, nobody would ever notice we disappeared from the forum. Bambi was a larger than life character in real life, and on the net. He seems to have left his mark everywhere he spent time.

You don't know me, but I am Bambi's brother-in-law. Yesterday, Bambi, the Stripper Hunter, died.

Bambi spent a lot of his time here and loved his Ram TRX, as you all no doubt know. You also know that he lived an outsized life and spared no one from a good ribbing. We lost him far too early. But he really did live his life according to the quote in his forum profile: “Only those are fit to live who are not afraid to die.”

If you have any memorable stories of Bambi, from a solid burn to a Raptor owner, which I am, or anything that tells the world just how unique Josh was, please message me. It will bring a smile.

Oh man, I am so sorry. I am one of the relatively small group of people that placed an August 2020 order as did Bambi, and I enjoyed his personality and snarky comments as we all impatiently awaited our trucks. Best of show ere the interactions between Bambi and soulsea...

My wife (Bambi's sister) sat down to read all of your messages yesterday. She asked that I post this to the thread:

I googled my brother tonight as part of the never ending quest for information i feel like i’m just starting as we process his absence. This thread came up and for the first time I read it and just sobbed.

My husband, and Josh’s good friend, posted here that first week because i asked him to. A lot of my instant sadness was that my brother seemed so isolated to me, but we knew he was active on this forum and so i asked that he let you guys know.

In those early days, when so much was unknown to us, my whole family was buoyed by the reports we got about that thread and that so many people cared about josh…errr i mean the stripper hunter. The pictures of yours toasts for him filled and the screenshots I’d get of your kind words both filled and broke my heart at the same time.

Now, as things have become more clear, we have realized how much this forum meant to him—that you laughed at (or were outraged by) his jokes, cared about his advice or plans for “gertrude” and that here he was really someone that mattered to a whole bunch of people. I don’t hesitate to say that in the last year of his life, this probably felt a whole lot like home to him. (I have to admit, i’m having a hard time explaining to friends how much the remembrances of him on an internet truck forum have meant to me.)

Being here pouring my guts out on that truck forum is probably the opposite of WWBS (wiggly wobbly bull scrotum) but we were very different people. Thank you for being friends to my brother, and to those of you who blocked him, thanks for that too—he certainly deserved it sometimes. Mostly though, I think sometimes Josh felt like he was never enough, but i don’t think he ever felt that here and for that i am so, so grateful.
