VIN “811 & 812” April Order Group

I was told yesterday (7/11/2021) by the local dealerships ram rep that the instruction given to them was the TRX line was not a part of the shutdown. Supposedly the retail customer orders are top priority to be completed and will keep being pushed through. Guess we will know shortly if that info is accurate. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Abandoned my 04/30 order on Memorial Day. I was still consistently pinging every dealer in a 100 mile radius and finally had one bite on msrp on the lot. My order didn’t have the red accents which this one did and I love. It also had the rambar and Mopar LEDs which I can’t stand so had to take those off day 1 and took me a month to sell for 1/3 of what they cost me.

Well I didn't expect this news today. has anyone else had updates? I put this order in at my dealership on 4/28
level 1, steps, bedliner, pano and HK.
 
Been encouraged to see a little movement amongst the group the last few day, but alas, I was still given the "D" when I checked in this morning. Ordered April 16, 811608 VIN.
Red, Level 2, Tech Group, Adv Safety, Bed Utility, Exterior Graphics, Red Accents, HK Speakers
 
My dealer says my truck has been built and just waiting on shipping. 812801 ordered 4/27. I haven’t seen a build sheet or window sticker. Is this possible?
 
I see some heavy spec'd trucks on tripleb's scan today. Some of those folks ordered after me too, and they have trailer reverse. I am hoping to see mine come up any day now...

Never mind, ship date is now 7/29.
 
Should have thought of it sooner, but those who have had their vehicles built and/or delivered should let chat know, so they can update their records to better match real life.

Where did you end up buying from? I’m bailing on my 4/15 order… still in D 811600.
 
Just waiting to see if any build sheets in fact get posted tomorrow. If not, I’ll probably be sleeping on the couch after the temper tantrum I throw.

For those who jumped ship…I am curious how much of a bitch it was to get your deposit back. Dealer has $2500 from me. It’s on a charge so I could always dispute it, but who wants to do that.

Your truck is actually almost done being built.
It is showing as being at the custom shop in Sterling Heights right now getting the body stuff done as we speak. No shutdowns of any kind are happening on my end from what I am seeing. Still looking good for a ship out of this month.

I got an entirely different exchange from FCA chat today. They confirmed that I am still in D status through their vague chat-speak. They also confirmed shutdowns this week and next week for the chip shortage and planned maintenance periods respectively. When pressed further, I was directed to check back next month. They would not confirm any MY 21 production extension nor did they care to engage in any specific discussion of my order or elevate it to anyone with any level of accountability in this process. Simply, they do not care about the customer.

And what did your dealer say?
I doubt that chat doesn't care about the customers, but they get very limited info to relay from their crystal balls, dart boards, and whatever they use.

I’ll be going back in tomorrow to see what they have to say. There has been a zero push effort when it comes to updates on my order. I stop by nearly every week or text my salesman but they aren’t actively sourcing or pushing info to me. Knowing that there were significant changes in the logistic chain, I was hoping for some sort of contact to inform me of the changes. I don’t have any leverage in this. If I cancel, they will still sell the truck without issue. The best thing I can do is wait, buy the truck, and then rate the dealership/salesman accordingly. If this is the new standard for a $95,000 transaction, it will be the last.
 
I was definitely expecting better communication from my dealer too. I reached out once and asked for an updated POC. Didn’t get it. Didn’t get anything from them when it went to D1 either. If I don’t initiate, I don’t hear anything from anyone. Receive more consistent order updates on the $5 car parts I buy from China on eBay.

Anyway, in the end I wouldn’t feel bad if another truck came up and I had to burn them on this deal.
