USSFCU

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update from what I just asked the folks at USSFCU. They can/will beat whatever rate you have from another bank by up to 2%. However, that is only down to whatever their lowest current published rates (on their site).

I submitted my application for membership yesterday morning. Included documentation on identification, employment, and membership with the american consumer council. Haven’t heard back quite yet from them. Would like to have my loan figured out and my 19 Raptor sold here pretty soon.

I submitted my application on the 27th with all documentation and still haven’t heard back either. I just left them a message in the chat and hope that moves things along.

I applied for membership on Saturday, 29th, then uploaded my documentation twice. I then unlocked my credit file on Sunday, 30th. Today, I checked my membership application status, I was asked to unlock my credit file. To-date, it is still unlocked. So, tomorrow, I will have to call and ask what is going on with my application. Boy, patience is definitely needed in this race to get my truck.

I was told today I need to call to speak live to complete the process. While cumbersome, understandable. Easier to go with Wells Fargo or B of A for sure. Hope jumping thru hoops is worth it…sounds like it is!

I was denied membership and I did do the $8 method. I will call them later today and find out why.
Did you ever figure out why they denied you membership? I did the same route as you. I'm on hold with them now trying to check on the status of my membership application. Still shows 'pending' online with no messages. Got a response "We're getting more membership applications than we normally do and they are working through them as fast as they can." I still have some time, so I'm not worried, will just keep checking back online every day or two.

Finally received the message I have been waiting for, I am pending approval. Now, according to the message, I need to call and talk to a representative. I hope that this is the final step. @TRX760 don't give up.

I remember having to complete my application by calling in. They verified some information and it was pretty painless. Application/loan approved that day with the details sent via the online message portal, later that day. I'm over 30 days since my approval and my truck is sitting at Port Allen waiting to go to MD. They are running about 2-3 weeks to get to the dealer from the port, so it's going to be close.

You'll receive a message from a loan officer after your call that will tell you how to finalize your loan. Basically send them a final POC, VIN, instructions on mailing the check, and deposit info. If you are going to overnight the check be sure to attach an external bank account to your savings account which will take a day or two since they make two small deposits for verification into the external. Then transfer over $30 for over night FedEx.

Thanks @Dark Wing

Good news. After some calls to get my membership approved and other calls to follow up with the loan application, I got approved at 3.74% for 60 months.😊

They sent me a copy off the check and Fedex tracking number from the mail that is on the way to the dealer.

Definitely it worth the work. Another vote to the USSFCU.

Did you put anything down?

Just an update for anyone waiting on membership approval. I applied for membership to USSFCU on 5/1 using the American Consumer Council route. USSFCU called this morning to finalize the membership details so it took exactly 1 week to process the membership portion. I have not applied for the loan yet as I am still in "D" status hell..

Same here, got a message to call them to finalize a few items. I haven't done the yet either, truck has been in 'I' status for about a week now, hopefully that gets finished up early this week. Then need to work on selling the Raptor to determine what the difference is..

They mailed the check for the dealer overnight.
Everything went smoothly. Now I’ll install IGLA and drive it back to FL 😊

I was just fully approved for the USSFCU. I had to call and talk to a representative to get the final documents sent but, it worked and I am happy I went this route. Now with the credit union sign-up completed, it is truly a waiting game for the call/email that my truck has arrived at Granger. Hopefully, no further interest rate hikes!
