Uconnect Box error message

Got me telematics box replaced today and issue still persist. Now it makes me wonder if they even replaced it? They said they may have to keep the truck and lend me a grand wagooneer while they figure out the issue but I’m not with that at this point in time. Especially since @RamCares seems to not have a fix.

It’s frustrating for sure. Our Wagoner was gone for 7 weeks first time and about a week the last two visits. I live 1.5 hours from the dealer and they finally just drove to me to get the vehicle and returned it with a full tank. I’ve had issues with a $165k Mercedes too. Service is tough, finding competent employees is as well, I’d hire 20 right now if we could. Hired 7 Monday, I think we are already down to 4. Lol. If it’s man made it will f up.

Wagoneer has a 1-800 number for Wagoneer Client Services. After the first 7 weeks of service I called and went off on them. They took over communication between me and dealer and called me about every 2 days. Very professional and helpful. I wonder if Ram has the same?

Their number is +1 (833) 667-4825. I bitched to him when I was looking for a Sandblast, he took note of my complaints. Might be worth a call.

Oh trust me, I definitely understand the time we are in right now. However, this issue seems to have been around for a year or so, looking at Jeep, Durango, etc communities. One would expect Ram would have resolved this issue by now…General speaking.
 
Thanks for the info, all. Do any of you know how to check the software update? My dealer had said Ra was imminently updating the software, but not sure if that would be the source of this error? Any idea how to check?

"we will need a diagnosis from the dealership on the telematics box module" seems this will be a circular mess between dealership visits and ramcares. Dealer will find nothing, or maybe replace the tmb to no avail. Pretty sure the security certificate needs to be resent, or maybe just wait til the next update??

After having my telemetric box replaced, the issue initially persisted after all that. The following morning, the issue was resolve (for now). Still early on if this issue was actually resolved or if it was just a bandaid placed for now.

Telematics box had to be replaced on mines. Resolved the issue so far.
Thanks… have an apt this coming Friday. Let’s see. I notice the error comes up. The in truck WI-FI does not work. The Weather button does not work. So something with communication is off.

Hi, I had my telematics unit replaced last week and while the truck was at the dealer after having the module replaced the same message showed up. The dealer said the truck could not communicate with the satellites because of a cell tower nearby... say what!?!?! lol. I was told to drive the truck under clear skies. Given what I read on this forum I was not expecting this to work. In any case, I live in Southern California and with wide open and clear skies I drove for over an hour with the windows down and panoramic sunroof open, I also left the truck on the driveway on "run" (but off) for hours going back to wake it up, and nothing.

I know for certain near my kids school the truck gets service because in the past, while waiting to pick them up I had the truck on "run" to use the wifi, and I got software updates. In any case, went there for over one hour and again nothing.

William @RamCares messaged me today and said this is likely a firmware/software issue that RAM engineers are aware of and working on and will post a bulletin when this is addressed. The confusing part is that the truck does not have wifi, SOS, or Assist capability (seems like all communication is lost). If that is the case, then how is the truck supposed to get an over-the-air software update if communication cannot be established in the first place?

Like you guys here, I hope I don't need emergency services during this period because they are not available.

Will keep you guys posted.
 
For what it is worth, William from RAM Cares doesn’t seem to really have a handle on anything that is going on. The other week he gave me misinformation about an issue I am having, and when I clarified what I had originally stated, he never bothered to respond back. I have been dealing with Uconnect 5 issues since February, and it is like someone is throwing darts at a board to come up with the next solution, which in my case has never corrected the issues, but has always managed to create new ones that I wasn’t having before. I think the system is awesome if everything was working properly. This should never been rolled out when it was, it needed more testing and bug fixes. Just my opinion.

What has messed your mobile app is the assistance package being expired which is the remote operations and a few other features.

The quick fix is purchasing in if you are interested if not we are working on pushing a update out for the mobile app to get rid of that error message no later than December."

So December? And not sure what the mobile app had to do with the box error message.

I called Uconnect and they told me is because the subscription expired,they checked my software version and it was up to date. I called again and I order a subscription for just a month. same error is popping out. I noticed what other are saying about the red sos bottom but I don't know. I did too about running it in a open sky and same error. Now is showing like 2 or 3 times a day it's pretty frustrating and I dont think the dealer has a clear solution..Hope someone find a solution real quick!!..thanks

So this issue started for me on my 22 TRX Level 2 in late October 2022. The dealer said it was the telematics unit. They replaced the telematics unit and it did not fix it. I was told to pick up the truck and drive it around to update the ATT security certificate because RAM satellites could not connect at the dealer. This is a crock of sh*t as RAM does not have satellites and I live in Los Angeles. If the satellites do not connect in Los Angeles I don’t know where they would connect. I drove the truck around with the panoramic sunroof open, windows down, for well over 100 miles, nothing, same error.

I have the front windshield tinted and then they said it was the tint on my windshield. What a crock of sh*t… you telling me that the signal ONLY goes through the windshield, not the full panoramic sunroom or windows? I’m not the only one with a tinted windshield and all other communications on other cars work. Not only that, it worked just fine for 6+ months. I told them I would gladly take the tint off and if it did not work they would need to reimburseme me the cost of removal, put it on again, and my time. They said I was likely right and not the tint.

I also was told it was the subscription service having expired. I told the dealer I would buy the service but would need to be reimbursed since I did not want to pay $300 to remote start my truck and the SOS and ASSIST was not working because of this. It was not my fault and should I get in an accident and my SOS and ASSIST buttons not work they would be in in for a lawsuit. They agreed and the renewal of the subscription did not fix the issue either, well I think at first.

I called RAM connect now that I had the subscription and told them I was getting this error, the SOS button did not work, and the ASSIST button did not work. If I got in an accident nothing would work and I had paid $300 for a service that was not working. They escalated the issue, I got a call nearly every other day (I have to say the Connect team was very responsive) with an update and after about a week the issue was fixed and to date I have not received the error.

Short story, I do think it is a glitch to do with the subscription expiring, even if you purchase the subscription it will not immediately work. Something needs to happen on the Connect services back end as I was told.

Hope this helps as this is what seems to have worked for me.

Started my truck this morning and this poped up. Anyone else? Anyone know what the issue is and what to do?

It is running fine with no other lights or messages. I ran a diagnostic check and no codes.

Also. The is my current software version. How do you check to see if your current.

I got this message on mine when my truck got stolen and they disconnected the Uconnect box under the driver seat and the shark fin on the roof. as soon as I re-plugged in the Uconnect I got that error message. The dealer told me they just plugged the shark fin back in and it worked fine.
