Although this one looks intentional, unlike the others. I wonder why they removed that option? Some kind of federal compliance thing maybe? Either way, it pisses me off that they reach into our trucks and take away things that were there when we purchased it.

Think about this scenario, if a deer or animal is in front of you and we try to go around it but the truck decides to jam its break instead. Than we hit the animal instead of going around it. If a car is behind us, they may not react and now hit us too. I am still about driving my truck. I pay attention to my surrounds and want the control. I doubt the truck will be able to make this decision. It is nice to have safety features to assist but I do not like to give up full control.

I guess get use to the yellow light lol but that's not a bad idea to remove the little box that does all these stupid updates. If I ever mod or tune i'll probably also remove that. How hard or easy was it?

Not only would you have to remove the telematics box, you'd also have to replace your Uconnect module with one that has never been updated. So you'll be in it for some pretty big bucks.

@RamCares - can you please look into this and let us know what's happening? We were sold vehicles with the option to set Pedestrian Emergency Braking to "off", "warning only" or "warning + active braking". This is documented in the user's manual. But somewhere along the way, an update occurred that only allows "off" or "warning + active braking" - the option for "warning only" is gone. Was this intentional, or is it another bug in the Uconnect software?

Hi there, thanks for bringing this our attention. To take a further look into this concern we would need to know the software version that the vehicles who have the "warning only" option is on. Along with the software version that the vehicles without the "warning only" option is on.

'21s have older Uconnect system. No OTA updates. Doesn't have all the new bells and whistles but no surprise updates to deal with.

@RamCares My 2023 is still running the Uconnect5 at T27.46 and mine still has all 3 options just like the trucks running UConnect4. My truck never updated with the OTA because my telematics box was removed.

Hey guys - Hope everyone had a nice XMAS! So something kind of funny happened and I wanted your opinions.

I had a friend see my truck for the 1st time. The very 1st thing he pointed out was this yellow light on. He then says "oh you're smart" You know what that light is for?!?!

Long story short this guy is obsessed with politics. Anyway he tells me some horror story of a "truck just like yours" getting caught in nyc at some protester nonsense and because he didn't have that light on he wasn't able to drive through protesters and get away from a dangerous situation. I guess that light means pedestrian emergency braking is off?? lol I had no idea. Anyway I looked it up and apparently he is right. Now while I don't feel like I'll be running over any protesters anytime soon I do hate all those emergency braking features. I feel they normally create more issues than they help.

Do you guys drive with your protester killing light on or off? and why lol

I intentionally ordered my truck without the lane departure, radar guided cruise, and pedestrian safety, blah blah.. I hate those options. Unfortunately it meant I had to lose the keyless entry and wireless cell phone charging.

Mine is always on. And it works! The frontal collision warning system is on by default, along with the ready alert braking for emergency braking. I’ve had it activate in traffic during a vehicle cut-off incident, not pedestrian.
