Timeframe before Dealers start coming off MSRP

It’s not that type of camera, it’s not live. It just detects your gaze for where you’re looking for the level 2 hands free driving so you’re still paying attention to the road. It’s a stand alone system, so the information doesn’t go anywhere.
We all know this, I was being sarcastic. My concern is still just as relevant, who has access to that data, how will it be used either for or against me, etc… this also doesn’t mean the current system stays this way, it could easily turn into a “live” system without us knowing much. Call me whatever I simply don’t trust those who want a camera of any sort on me at all times. We have enough as is.

I get it. The last thing you want is a camera recording you doing absolutely nothing interesting. 😂 Although I'm pretty sure Ram isn't planning a documentary about your life anytime soon.
I live in tx and know several dudes that drink and drive. That's exactly what the cameras are for. So your sparky post just isn't needed.

How can you be so confident and wrong?

The steering wheel IR camera is for when you enable the self drive to make sure you are looking forward. It can also suggest taking a driving break if you start closing your eyes after a long drive period, but it will never intervene unless you have self driving off.

There is zero drunk driver detection or a way for it to prevent you from driving the truck.

They are getting ready.

A federal mandate passed in 2021 requires all new cars to include passive technology that detects drunk or impaired driving, though regulators have not yet finalized the rules for implementation. The mandate, known as the HALT Drunk Driving Act

Just one shit Ram update away from doing all the things noone wants. Always starts as a so called reasonable safety feature that then gets taken too far. Remember when driving with or without a seatbelt was your personal safety choice. Now it's a ticket and extra bullshit bells plus weight sensors added in every vehicle. We all know or should that these new systems collect our driving data that then the companies sell to jack everyone's rates and more. The courts have ruled that the manufacturers can scan through your phones and record you in your vehicle and do whatever they want with it. You never have to be notified of this and they can go into everything with the customer having no recourse. The way modern vehicles are wired with all the sensors it would really surprise most what they know about you and your habits. They just keep adding more and more spyware into everything we use to get through life. Is what it is unfortunately, will only stop when we all collectively quit accepting it. Might not be doing this or that today but most likely will tomorrow. Give an inch they take a mile and never give it back. If I was in a 27 the nanny is the first thing I would be jailbreaking. Don't need a subsystem to void self accountability. Too tired to drive then don't car screaming at you makes no sense especially if it gets damaged or constantly just gets it wrong. Then there is the government mandates.

Preach. Let’s also just throw out there what happens when this system fails and leaves you stranded cause it disables the car or plug in any other scenario in there… One more thing to fail.

Yep, only a matter of time. I remember when I told people these systems were coming. Some saw it for what it was others argued. Well now we find ourselves here with the systems in place that would never actually be coming.😒

Sucks to be right sometimes! Unfortunately you can't fix stupid and we seem to be getting more and more boot polishers! Removing this bullshit is the way can't wait for people to figure out exactly how to do it.

Sounds like sticking with 22-24 models is the way to go to me. I simply won’t participate with this madness

That’s just not true. The Ram doesn’t have the necessary equipment to do so. Now the new bmws and Audis with real front cabin cameras that can sense symptoms of being drunk might be able too, but again- they overlap with being tired. It’s going to be a hard way to prove someone is drunk.

The fact is- the 2027 TRX has zero drunk driver detection and never will because it just doesn’t have the right equipment for it. The IR camera can’t do this.

I cannot blame you. Most all the things they did to get the 27 to where it is was copy and pasted from builds on this forum. Then they added the government nanny. Reason I passed on getting a 27 myself. Was thinking it would be nice to have two. They made the TRX then neutered it to build the rhellno then dropped the Hellcat back into the rhnofuckingway with some mild mods to have the 27 TRX. Added badges that they ripped off from Alpha Generation mods on this forum. Not what it should have been they needed to return to the TRX as it was and drop in a DC1500 that was the play but nope.

I don’t blame them honestly they’re still going to sell like hotcakes and margins are insane on it as is. It also leaves room to keep adding to the lineup which I think they will after they gauge rumble bee success.

The nanny systems are annoying, even the driving aids. I have all of them turned off other than blindspot cause people really don’t know how to drive around here and let’s be honest, that’s about the nicest feature they’re added to modern vehicles.

Every company is going to use its own system to satisfy the Feds. A system that can detect and issue a drowsy driver alert could certainly be utilized for drunk drivers. The systems were never going to detect 100% of drunk drivers unless they mandate you blow before you drive. The system isn't proving anything, it just has too not start and/or shut down the vehicle if it thinks you are impaired.

In your world is Facebook a reliable source for information or something?
We aren’t talking thesis work here, it’s truck sales. And in this instance, yes it’s arguably the most accurate for pricing.

It’s funny this thread was a discussion of MSRP TRX sales where several doubted it was possible. Then myself and few others entered the chat with data showing it is possible. Then our data isn’t accurate cause it’s FB. What gives for yall? It’s wildly entertaining for me

this isn't a black and white issue, it has cameras, tech and telematics everywhere that can be used for things you may not want. Bottom line is the 2027 is 1 OTA update away from turning your vehicle into something you need approval to drive. Just because it's not called "DRUNK DRIVING DETECTION" doesn't mean it can't limit you from driving. Whether you want to admit it or not.

Ran into this with someone claiming markups couldn't happen. Now all the sudden claim is I said msrp was impossible. Gotta love it, been laughing my ass off at the pure retardation from that one!

Ya know in the beginning I was trying to be helpful for those looking. I honestly truly love the hunt for a vehicle which is largely why I’ve had over 50 at this point and finding at the best deal possible is even more so fun. Then it was for entertainment purposes but that’s getting worn out so I’ll stop sharing.

But I will still help anyone who genuinely needs or wants help. I’ve helped numerous people and friends find and negotiate deals. It’s fun and rewarding. When the sandblast and lunar came out, 4 forum members bought through my help at MSRP.

You guys got to take your tin foil hats off. There is no way for any of the tech to detect drunk driving in the 27 TRX. Yes there is a mandate for vehicles but it is in a holding pattern until Nov 2027. This TRX has no such technology. The ONLY camera is an infrared one that detects eye movements and head movements. It can’t detect slurred speech, droopy eyes, and hallmark glassy eyes. You need a real camera with full on AI detection for that.

So no, the TRX is 100% unable to detect any sort of impaired driving.

Just stop with your nonsense.

Now a 2028 TRX may have this camera system. The 2027 certainly does not.
