i'm baffled why koons delays the title papers. Been 30 days since the purchase and they are fast to send new temp tags instead of sending the papers to local DMV. Now if the car wouldve been financed would make sense . Without title you cant sell it so you'll have to keep paying the loan which is more kickbacks for them. But I paid cash . I'm started to get irated with this nonsense.. Koons title person just ignores my questions..

Fun. I’m waiting to see how it goes with mine. I gave them the exact paperwork pre-filled out that they were required to mail. All they had to do was cut a check, add the MCO/MSO to the pile of papers and put it all in an envelope.

30 days tomorrow. I sent them an email giving them another 2 weeks. If no papers are sent I'll file AG complain and file complain against dealer. Told Craig him deserves 10 but I'll ding them if title department doesnt work on the papers. They cant blame Covid when we had no Covid in AZ. There was nothing shut down here and DMV has no backlog. I want my title done so I can go after them for the extra 2k they charged on taxes .

Keep me posted about your situation, I told them I order firefighter plates with mine and he told me they can’t do it like that. I asked if they can just give me the necessary paperwork so I can do it myself and was told no that I’ll get regular plates and have to go back in to separately order the specialty plates. That’s such bullshit. Kinda pisses me off…

What’s the difference if it takes 30 days or 90 days? You have plates.

Were you looking to flip it?

If you paid cash why are they handling any of the title or tax paperwork? I paid cash for mine through Chapman and got my plates same day here in California as soon as my truck was delivered. Just paid the taxes and registration after getting a smog, weight, and vin verification. Was super easy. Had a title in a week in the mail.

The explanation I was given was that Koons has some arrangement with Stellantis that requires them to handle the title/registration paperwork. I paid cash and could not convince them to give me the MCO.

Because they won't accept anything besides we handle your TTL. It's not usual for a dealer to take care of the taxes . Whats unusual is the delay. Still trying to figure out why they'd rather keep sending temp tags instead of mailing papers to local DMV. It has to do with how they report the sales or keeping what I'm owed for as long as possible. I gave them extra 2 weeks before I involve state authorities. Koons has been investigated before for tax fraud . Not this dealership but other koons dealers

Stellqntis doesn't care of your taxes . They lied

For sure, didn’t believe it for a minute but they wouldn’t budge on it. Not like they are making any tax money off me since I don’t pay any in my state. They charged about $100 too much for the registration fees though even when I brought the printout from the DMV website that showed exactly what the fee amount was.

I have never paid the taxes on a purchased car at any dealer. I just take the purchase paperwork to dmv and Handel it all myself. Something don’t sound right about them forcing everyone to do so.

Quite frankly that's horse manure, just like their $1000 dealer add-on fees. Thank goodness there's other choices like Granger where you don't have to put up with nonsense like that.
