Tazer DT

I didn't think it was this bad to cause a CEL from the start, but I have to say it seems like it's in "beta" -- has some functionality but not really stable.

I wanted it primarily for the KillByFob function which seemed like a good idea to kill the gas pedal when the truck is locked by fob, and enable the gas pedal when it's unlocked by only the same fob. I could give up the AmberDRL, don't really care much about that, and I won't use the PIN code function, and definitely won't "marry" it to my truck.

For sure if it throws one more CEL or causes any weirdness, that's it for me, it gets yanked out forever from my truck. I have zero tolerance for beta electronics running in something that weighs nearly 3 tons and hurtles down the road at 85 mph with me in it.

My first reaction when I got the CEL was "CEL? I'm ripping out this damn thing!!!" but decided I'll give it a few more tries

BTW, I texted @ZAutomotive for support on the CEL. .... crickets...

I cleared the DTC codes and after a couple engine shutoffs and engine starts, the CEL went away.

I got a reply from Z-Automotive re: the CEL and the DTC message in the EVIC, "Cruise Control Unavailable Below Minimum Speed":

Z-Automotive (SMS):

"That goes away on its own after some driving
Just a side effect of the pedal getting disabled and reenabled"

I haven't had the CEL come on again so far today. Could it be that I got the CEL error "Cruise Control Unavailable..." because Cruise Control was last ON when I was selecting options in the Tazer menu, and Tazer saves the current Drive Mode (including the Cruise Control status?) when the engine was shutoff and when the engine was started Cruise Control was still ON?

If that's true, Z-Automotive might want to add a FAQ or documentation for users to turn OFF Cruise Control before engine shutoff if its last status was ON.

It's just a guess. I dunno.
