Tazer DT

I just installed today on my 22, got the DRL's and folding Mirrors to work fine. What other features will work?
You can turn off the 3 horn honk when exiting truck while running with fob in your pocket.

Brake hold works also. If you mash the brake pedal down while stopped, it will hold the brake for you (i.e., you can take your foot off the pedal). Only complaint is that it chimes and flashes symbols on the dash. My wife keeps thinking there's something wrong with the truck.

I'll have to try that. I was hoping the Camera features would, My 2021 Silverado would automatically turn on the cameras when sensors went off. That's probably the only other feature I would want.

sadly it does not and I do not see the guys at Z Automotive in a rush to release an update for the 2022 model anytime soon!

So I forgot to unmarry the Tazer to my TRX I traded in... I assume its worthless?
No, you can pay ZAutomotive $50 and unmarry it with a code. Go to their site and select the "Unmarry key":

Thank you. Wondering if that’s even worth it to sell, any idea what they sell for you used? Maybe I’ll just pay the $50 and pass it forward to a forum member

If you are serious about getting rid of it, sent you a pm

My live settings work fine but can not get it to save any vehicle settings....have tried multiple times.....will give it one more go....
I had to redo mine a lot before I would get some to actually stick. I believe it’s a different procedure for getting the live settings to stick vs the truck off settings to stick. The live settings just need to have the truck running, and then change the setting. It should then auto put it back in place every start up.

This thing is awesome because it works as a bypass too. I have my truck tuned and I don’t need to have a bypass installed when tuning my truck with my hp tuners. And I can just leave it plugged in 24/7 so I never have to take it out or replace it with a different bypass! Love mine.

That 2wd setting though I wouldn’t run that if you even care a sliver bit about your truck. That transfer case was never made to go into 2wd and that will smoke that thing out faster thank you can blink your eyes. I cannot believe they’d put a setting in there like that. Some guys are new to this stuff and don’t know what that can do and will run it. That is the only really bad call on tazers part IMO to release that. There’s no need. These trucks have so much power that you’ll smoke the rear tires anyhow. I have a smaller pulley litens and injectors to run e85. I smoke my tires even with all 4 spinning. The power does you no good if you can’t transfer that to the ground.

Agree with not having to use the Force RWD to have fun with this truck. I do however use it to heat up the rear tires (when running drag radials) at the track and then switch back to AWD for the run. Numerous passes on my truck without an issue. Key is to allow the front wheels to spin. Running Force RWD on a dyno is not recommended since the front wheels aren't spinning which doesn't allow the FWD clutches in the T-Case to get lubricated.

So I thought I would email tazer support to see if I could get an official answer. I did - kinda. I asked if 22's were supported. The answer was there was an issue with a uconnect 5 overwrite menu? The answer also included that we should wait approximately a month before purchasing. I am assuming/hoping that means they are actively working on it (glass half full). There is really not another solution that does all that the tazer will - if it is worked out to function fully on 22's. Anyway, thought I would share what I received from the horse's mouth.

So does that mean that it won’t be fixed via a firmware update, and we will need to by a different model Tazer? If true, I hope they accept an exchange…

I had that thought as well. I didn't respond with anything to their email. You would think if they were working on a firmware update to accommodate the 22's, the sales pitch would have been purchase now - here is what works, upgrade to coming firmware for full functionality. But who knows...
