NEW Tazer DT Updates and Guide

I have it installed on my 23 with all the known "glitches " been waiting on this update with tech emails to z auto and no response (2 weeks). I also signed up for testing with zero response as well.
I do like the folding mirrors, amber drl.
Pin is ok but way to easy to disable in theft.
It has caused issues with pedestrian cross path activating cameras on screen and freezing along with other camera issues that are not a problem when tazer is removed.
Think they had great ideas with this product but I feel it shouldn't have been sold until it actually worked ( think most issues are due to unconnect 5, not sure though.)
My experience with z auto has not been good at all as I have had zero response since purchase.

I saw a Facebook post from Auto looking for volunteers to experiment with the new Taser firmware and sent their tech support an email. Within 121 hours I had a reply and the new firmware. Their CS rep has been fantastic with timely responses to my questions.

I have just flashed the module with the BETA and am about to install the Taser DT back in the truck. I'll be sure to post back with updates after I explore the huge list of new features. Fingers crossed!

Sorry for the double post, but this thrills me: The menus are finally working flawlessly on UConnect 5. No longer do you have to guess what you are looking at in the menus by deciphering a few letters. Everything displays clearly and consistently. This in itself is a huge win!

Looks like a winner already.

I just updated mine too... I really wanted to check out the working while removed security feature & happy to say it looks like it works as advertised so far..

I have enabled the PIN and "Pedal Disable" mode, and completely removed the Tazer. Restarted the truck with nothing plugged in and the SG disconnected and the pedal is completely dead and no option to even enter a pin to bypass.

Once I plugged the tazer back in and key entered - working as normal..

2 minor bitches --(Ill send these back to Z-auto)
1. Error lights make it looks like there is a problem with the truck -- I know, silly but it would be nice if these could be supressed.
2. You have to manually enable this mode each time you want to use it.. Having just the pin enabled isn't enough.. What I mean, you enter the 'disable if removed' mode (pedal disable) - re-start the truck, enter your pin as normal - pedal disable is off again so if you go somewhere else and shut the truck off, someone removes the tazer all the security is disabled as it was before. It would be nice to have an option for this to be enabled by default with the pin
(unless I'm missing something or doing something wrong which is not only possible but likely)
I've also turned on some of the other features I hadnt been using due to bugs like turn cam, parking cam, so we will see how it goes.

Is there a way to toggle the hood and marker lights off instead of having them on all the time with the amber DRL's?

Amber DRL's and hood/marker lights are two separate things. One doesn't affect the other.
On mine, I used Tazer to enable the amber DRL's, but had to wire up the marker lights (in my fuse box) to be on all the time.
Someone mentioned that the Tazer can enable the marker lights, but I still haven't seen that as a setting.

It is a setting that came in an update last year. I love the hood lights but don't want the marker lights on the sides and back on. I've messaged them on Facebook just waiting for a reply.

Well I guess I need to undo my fuse-box wiring to see if they stay on...

Do you have some pics of how you wired up your hood lights?
I did the same thing as what's shown in this post:

Ok thanks. So this is for all the marker lights not just the hood correct? Or is it just the hood lights?

Just answered your question on the other thread, but here's the answer on this thread too:
hood, rear (license plate) markers, and fender markers - they all run through that fuse.

On this Tazer DT you can activate RWD only....I have heard that the trans and diffs are beefed up but are the same functionally as the other trucks that can go from 2 to 4-wheel drive....so if choosing to run the TRX in 2-wheel drive....will that hurt anything overall and on longer trips....??? I feel like Ramm knew it had the option to do this at production, BUT there had to be an issue they came across...OR, they were trying to cut tire sales from burn-outs? Im not a burnout guy per se, and I know from my 960 hp 21 TRX that wheel spin is all the time, but guess it's almost uncontrollable if only in 2-wheel?

Dang! Thank you
The new beta version is pretty good tbh still a lil buggy in the turn cam on a 22-23. But that’s all I have noticed. PIN and all security works as described! We can always forward the beta to you lol

So just received the version 18.2.1 beta test today. Will install it after the weekend since I am not currently in town.
