NEW Tazer DT Updates and Guide

Roger, got it.

So, I don't see any updates for the camera issues? If front camera is enabled with parking sensors and it comes on while driving, the screen never goes away. Kinda sucks to have bought this product but can only use it in a limited capacity because of the various bugs. AmberDRL, Kill3Honk, and Fogs with High beams, are pretty much all its good for.
I see that you had it married. Did you do the reboot procedure then 2 sleep cycles? AND did you do them on perfectly level ground? Rebooting on unlevel ground will recalibrate the truck and sensors and mess with all sorts of functions. Ask me how I know this.

I bought the Tazer DT. Installed it months ago on my 2021 TRX. In less than 1 month my RF Hub got zapped. Can't prove it was the Tazer. After repairs made, uninstalled it and no problems since. According to some on this forum, general consensus was that Tazer caused it. Is this fact or fiction? Sounds like some of you have had good success with it. Really liked a few of the features I had with it.

For what it's worth, you can create a shortcut to your cameras so that it's a one-click operation to get there. At the top, second from the right icon.

I like that feature and use it but it should b e on the left side of the screen so its closer...

Did you have it married, and were you using the PIN feature? If so, it's highly likely that the Tazer caused it. But if you were running it unmarried, then it wasn't the Tazer.

Just FYI, if you have a 2023+ (or at least a 2023+ BCM installed) you can enable Parksense camera activation with AlfaOBD. Works a LOT better than the Tazer version of this function.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does this do exactly?
Exactly the kind of question to be expected from someone who drives a Short Bus Edition! :D

It makes your cameras turn on when the Parksense sensors detect something close. So you don't have to push a button to activate them.

In stop and go traffic is 100% the reason my camera will stay on. Can't do anything until I shut the truck down completely and turn it back on. I did not have the camera when turning enabled because I found it more more of a crutch/distracting too. I just think the auto front camera when parking is a nice feature since there isn't any other 'quick way' to enable it. But it wasn't worth it enabling and never shutting back off again.

Amber DRL that include the side mirrors is 100% my favorite feature. Kill3Honk is also nice because that was just downright irritating.
instead of waiting to turn off your truck. Just put it in reverse and it will take off the front park camera.

Hahaha... well when you put it that way I think I will have to do this now!

Oh, thanks for that info! I'm still trying to get acclimated to all of the settings and features. This thing is like a spaceship compared to my 2018 Raptor. But this short-cut will be just the ticket for me.

I had the issue of the front camera locking-on a few days ago while driving. I tried the "reset" (hold radio power button for 10+ seconds until the unit shuts down). That was kind nerve-racking because the whole system acted really funky for a while after that. Took forever for my radio to come back up. Anyway, I shut the park camera feature off in the Tazer and haven't had an issue since. But I'm bummed because it was super handy. I park in the garage and I have a line painted on the floor to get the truck in far enought to shut the door. I was nice to not have to fumble around with menus every time I got home.

Just got my Tazer, only plan on using it for the DRL's. I noticed that the side mirrors are part of the DRL live setting. Is there a way to disable them or do I have to revert to an older version?

Is it safe to drop down to an older version while in the latest Uconnect?

It’s in the live settings but you still have a choice if you want them activated or not. I personally love that feature.

It doesn't matter which version of Uconnect you have vs. which version of the Tazer software you're running. They're completely independent.

Okay, that confirms my suspicions. I was NOT on perfectly level ground. Is there a way to recalibrate this without involving the Tazer? Is it possible for the truck to recalibrate itself after so many start/run/sleep cycles?

You can remap one of your steering wheel buttons to activate the camera. This is one of the main reasons I got the tazer and it works great. If you have the surround camera it'll pull up the 360 view and front or rear camera depending if you're in drive or reverse. I have my cruise set button mapped to it and use it everyday. This remapped button activates the camera when cruise is disabled and the cruise set works as factory when cruise control is enabled.

Just find level ground. Be patient and don’t worry about the dash lights coming on. After it reboots, go to off, open and close door then let everything go to sleep, all lights. Then back to run without starting, let everything boot up, then off and open and close door until everything is off. I do it 3 times. Go drive around around in traffic and see if that fixes it. I rebooted mine after leveling kit and diff drop and it behaves better imo. Those features you are using don’t require marrying it.

I don't think I married it this past time, but it still gave me the option to unmarry it when I was doing the reset. I'd rather it not be married, so I can simply unplug it for dealer visits as needed.

As part of the Tazer instructions, it says to perform a few sleep cycles every time you change a setting. I've never done that before but I've never had any issues with not doing it. Am I missing something or are the sleep cycles really not necessary?
