My wife surprise ordered me a S&B intake for my truck the other day, it showed up today hence why I jumped into this thread today. I hope the new rad shroud cover is the right one so I can cut it up and store the original with the rest of the intake parts. I'll report back tomorrow to confirm that the part number I found and posted is indeed for the "Easter egg" cover.
My wife bought me mine for Christmas. She LOVES the supercharger whineWife that orders a "surprise" intake for your TRX = definite keeper !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I keep reading about fitment and hardware issues so I guess I got lucky. My intake fit perfectly and I had absolutely no issues with the hardware. Is anyone else really disappointed with the quality of the hardware supplied with the S&B intake? Leaving aside the cheesy worm clamps, either they routered the holes in the back of the intake box that the bolts go through to attach it to the cross brace much too large or the supplied washers are much too small. I can't even snug up the nuts or the washers slide right through the holes. Of course it's now after 9pm so I have to wait until morning to go pick up some larger washers. Oh and who the heck knows if it's going to line up properly in the truck because there's so much room in those holes to put the intake on crooked, too high or too low. I guess I'll have to put it in and see and then adjust it and put the filter in after it's mounted to the truck.
Also maybe put a f@$%ing warning on the instructions to be careful removing the IAT sensor from the stock intake tube, the positioning tab snapped clean off mine, luckily the local dealer has one on the shelf. Ok that one's on me but seriously, put a note in the instructions... ugh
