Ravelco vs. IGLA

My understanding is it doesn’t shut the truck down after the 31mph for 3mins, it just takes it out of service mode, meaning the next time you shut it off, the system is armed again and won’t start without a fob or the code. Pretty sure only the anti-carjack setting will kill the engine. I’m still debating whether I want to do that only because I could see myself with my truck ok and the driver door open for more than 3 seconds….I guess unless I trained myself to never do that.
Once anti carjacking activates the indicator light that igla uses (different light for different vehicles/models) flashes every 3 seconds and then gets faster and on vehicle’s without an electronic shifter will shut the engine down when under 30. The electric shifter vehicles can’t because it will slam into park. They do however shift to park when it gets close to stopping like at a light ect and will not come out of park. It it does activate and the light starts flashing simply put your pin code in. After a week with anti carjacking on it will become second nature to put your pin in when it does. If it activates and shuts the engine off ect simply turn off the ignition and then back on, wait a few seconds and put your pin in

I’m going to test the service mode sometime this weekend and will let you know what I find. @IGLA Installer KY may have an opinion on your situation…..
Do you mean you shut the engine off and then started it right back up? Yes thats supposed to happen. It has a “sleep” cycle kinda (not sure thats the right word, just hobbled out of bed) on my jeep its 10 seconds, my wifes new highlander is about 10 seconds. When my dash lights go out then the pin is required again to start

I just tried my service mode again taking the kids to school 45-55 mph 20 minutes outside of stoplights. Turned it off and did not wait for it to sleep and it started right back up so on the way home, same trip, I did the same when I got home but opened the door and let the dash and everything go to sleep and it started back up. With all that said, I had not read your comment so I will try again after awhile and let it sit for a minute or two before trying and see if that doesn't do it. Does an installer have to change the "drive minutes" or can that be done by a user?

It can be done but only by the installer through the author flasher program. An encrypted bluetooth dongle is required to gain access and change settings/upload firmware and is only sold to installers/dealers. Talk to your installer and have them change the settings. Default for your vehicle might be different. If you were close to me I would do it for you and let you pick it.

I appreciate it. That is what sucks is there is still no installers in Oklahoma so I drove 3 hours to get it done. Not sure its worth the 3 hour trip just to fix the service mode. I guess I will wait until there is other updates too and schedule a trip.

I have a quick question, and I’m wondering if anyone here could chime in and answer it.
I’ve read somewhere in the past that a dealership could or may void a warranty for the installation of a aftermarket anti theft device. If this is true, what security / anti theft devices won’t void the warranty, and how is it authorized to be installed on the vehicle?

I searched Googled for a little bit, but I couldn’t find a clear answer, so I figured that I hit the forum up to see if anyone here could answer my question. Sorry for hijacking the the thread. Thank y’all for your time.

My installer spoke to me about this saying that the IGLA does not cut any wires and can be removed back to completely stock if necessary. The install supposedly only requires sodering IGLA wires to existing factory wires which could be removed if necessary. Also, supposedly IGLA is not detectable by any OBD/PCM/ECU scans and so to my knowledge there aren't any warranty concerns.

Also, I bought rock sliders off a guy who's IGLA unit went bad, but was causing his truck to act strange and his dealership didn't hassle him at all. I suspect ultimately this boils down to finding a quality dealership that isn't trying to nickle & dime you.

But, with all that said, would also like to hear what others have to say on this.

I haven't heard of it but that doesn't mean much coming from me. However there is a dealership (nyinstaller) in Dallas, TX that is certified to install IGLA now I believe. He has been active on some of the IGLA threads so he would probably be the most reliable person to ask.

Actually yea that would be cool if you could test that out.....and even better if you made a video and posted that? Just very curious to see how we would confirm the key cloning is blocked. Thanks for taking the time to discuss all this btw, very helpful!
My scanner does not support fca gateway access. Probably going to order one that does in the next couple weeks. I will update you when I find out

IGLA does not void warranties. It is installed without cutting a single wire and is totally invisible so the dealer won’t know its installed unless you tell them. If its in service mode they can do what they need to. It shows on IGLA site that it keeps all warranties intact

Jon from SoCal IGLA installed mine this morning. Can definitely sleep a little better tonight since my truck unfortunately has to live outside. The garage sadly wasn’t good enough.

OUUUUUCCCHHH, so friggin close. No way to clear room at the front I assume? I’d be trying to get creative if I was in that situation.

Got as close as could to the wall, I definitely wouldn't be able to do it on my own without a spotter. Would be a PIA as a daily routine.

I was thinking of calling a garage company out to see if it's possible to adjust the garage door a few inches back. The rails look like they are adjustable but I don't have any knowledge of them.
