Ravelco vs. IGLA

This is not the link I was looking for but similar discussion is taking place.
I can care less as I already have a ravelco but betting on a CAN BUS based system with Russian support doesn't seem like a great idea.

Anyone in SE Michigan do either of these. I can’t seem to find anyone to do either system

Not sure if the folks here read through the Ravelco Thread but I posted there a link from a pirate website that teaches kids how to play with CAN BUS systems?
Nobody here thinks rhe Ravelco is great. It's dated, ugly.
Thing is all about bypassing time.
A CAN BUS can be flashed as fast as a key fob can be erased and a new one programmed.
Some here had their ride stolen with a key fob reprogrammed in just a few mins.
I am one who actually does think the Ravelco is great. Mine is hidden out of site, so appearance is not really an issue, and honestly, even if it wasn’t hidden, I do not see what the big issue is with the way it looks. In reference to it being dated, it does exactly what it is supposed to do, keep a vehicle from being stolen. No need to mess with something that has a proven track record. Once vehicles start getting stolen that had one properly installed, then I would say it is time to update the technology. Just my opinion.

I’ve got 5 ravelco‘s installed - will add one more - no complaints to date

Ravelco going in tommorow morning. Is it necessary? Who knows. Regardless, I sure will like the feeling of security when I leave the truck in a busy parking lot and can pull the plug. What is peace of mind worth?
Towards the last days before my install I was worried about driving it anywhere...lol
We had been getting TRXs stolen constantly and the Ravelco made the truck fun again.
Good luck

I just called them. I’m kind of shocked the IGlA is $1,200 installed and $1600 with the shock and tilt sensor. Seems high. I also don’t like that you can’t shut it off. I am in and out of my truck alot and not sure I want to enter a pin code every time. I like the idea of the revelco better but no one installs here. Luckily my truck isn’t here yet so I have time to figure this out

The system also comes with a small fob / key tag that overrides the need to enter the pin. I’m not getting the shock and tilt sensor. No one pays attention to alarms these days and once they have broken in, the damage is done. My main objective is to deter them from taking the truck.

I messaged Ravelco and let them know that there was no installer in my area. They said that they would ship me the kit and I could have any mechanic install it. I still haven't decided if I'm going with IGLA or Ravelco.

You don;t need to enter a code each time. There is a little fob (pretty damn slim) that the system pick ups on when you get near the vehicle OR you can use your phone via Author Alarm app and it picks that signal up. $1200 does seem a bit high just for the IGLA system to be installed. Not as invasive as Ravelco for them to charge that amount. I paid less than that to have mines installed.

ps. IGLA system appears to have been around for years. Its just barely starting to catch demand here in the states due to increasing vehicle theft.

I was looking at our local Ravelco installer and they are all remote installs on my property - work or home. This was for the mid-Atlantic region. Would be nice to have them come to my house as I am working from home these days.

Just had ravelco installed by Bret with Southeast Ravelco, he is near Nashville. He did a fantastic job, install is flawless and I highly recommend him. I am very glad I went ahead with this and already have more peace of mind.

If you do, you'll have Chuck and Megan come out to do the install. They're excellent - very professional, very personable. They do an impeccable job, and are VERY careful with your vehicle. I can't recommend them enough.

To the San Diegans out there with Ravelco…who did your install?

Hes lucky he hasn't gotten sued by the thief friendly justice warrior lawyers out there

IGLA system installed! For those wondering, I am in San Diego and just had this installed.
Can I ask what it cost you installed?

And do you have a link to the company that installed it?

I'm about 40-50 minutes from San Diego.
