Ram TRX returns Q1 2026

Good. The R/T wasn't even an option in the sales codes I got. But I had decided on the 5.7 anyway.

I test drove a 5.7 tow and go. It drove nice and sounded good. We loved the 5.7 in our rebel 👍🏻.

The one and only 5.7 I've had was in a '10 Ram 2500. Ordered a '14 2500 with a 6.4, sold the '10 to a friend who still drives and enjoys it.

Dodge made up my mind for me on Durango engine choices. Got the sales codes today, and it's either the V6, 5.7, or 6.2. No 6.4 listed.

The 5.7 is what I had pretty much already decided on, so it's time to place an order. And wait.
I drove a Durango with the 6.4L at Bondurant a few years back. I remember that for a fat bastard SUV, it really cooked. The HellRango may be my favorite SUV right now. I think either the 6.4L or Hellcat would be the way to go.

Probably my favorite HellRango Review:

I have considered the 6.4, but definitely don't want a 6.2.

Not only because I already had one, but it would largely defeat the purpose of buying a Durango as a beater car. Tried that with a Trackhawk and that didn't work out either.

At least for now, the five 6.2s we have will be enough and a 5.7 should be about right.

No such thing as too many Hellcat Vehicles!

If I had the budget for it, I’d have a HellRango. I just like the idea of an SUV I can fit in that is fun to drive.

Talking about Durango, what does "Fed State Only" mean? Unavailable in CA emission states?

If what the sales codes state is correct, that there's no catalytic converter on a couple of models, that probably wouldn't go over well in California.

It’s not that it has no cats, it probably just doesn’t have the “CARB” cats… which is just a stamp and some numbers

If so, why would the sales codes claim that they don't have them?

Guess I need to read through them yet again and make sure I got it right.

It would have to be marketed as race use/off-road use only. Similar to the cobra jet mustangs back in the day

Guess it could be a different cat in two of the models. Each "X" is standard equipment for a different model, out of four.

"CAPLESS FUEL FILL W/O DISCRIMINATOR (XJM) X X X X

CARGO COMPARTMENT CARPET (CKN) X X X X

CARGO TIE DOWN LOOPS (CKT) X X X X

CATALYTIC CONVERTER (NDA) X X

CHILD SEAT ANCHOR SYSTEM-LATCH READY (CGU) X X X X"

No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative
For the love of God let the 4 door charger die! Challenger has been great charger not so much. This new body charger with some tweaks is light-years in the right direction from that 4 door abomination that Dodge should have never produced. Put a hellcat in the new one stop this isix bullshit and sell some cars!

as a dog owner not sure I fully agree with your assessment. I had a charger 392 and really liked the rear doors for traveling with my dog.

Screw Kalifornia. Why limit our freedoms for those idiots?

Similarly, my girlfriend had me chase down a Charger in Granite last year, because it's easier to load up at Costco than the Challengers are.

And no, while I see it several times per day I'm still not used to how they look.

That's what you have a TRX for, chargers were never ment to be dog toting family saloons. Coke bottle baby not the fridge the coke goes in!

Nothing yet according to my dealer, but I've been concentrating on my ordered Durango. For the TRX it looks like the first quarter of '26, as originally announced, is still true.

TRX Forum Favs 👍
