Please explain Launch Control

For sure, however, if I floor it from a dead stop without LC, it pulls harder off the line. It's probably a result of traction control and whatnot by using LC. In the end, if ppl are getting better 0-60 runs using LC, then the perception of acceleration when not using LC is very misleading.
Agreed. Mine just hit 500 mile break in.
I'll post an attempt soon.

I had an opportunity to try LC out again yesterday. I set my rpm to 2,200 (from 2,500) and it worked without a glitch on the first attempt .
It's a strange feeling to hear/feel the engine under load, only for it to slowly (felt slow) depart immediately after letting off the brakes, followed by a quick acceleration.
Overall, it was quick, but the slower departure left me feeling like there was more to be desired on takeoff.

I'll experiment this weekend, see how one launch compares to the next, as well as to increase/decrease the launch rpm to see what works best.
I tried it for the first time yesterday in sport mode and had a similar experience. Got everything primed and the race/stop lights on the dash started the countdown to release the break and it was underwhelming and a slow surge. Like no G forces at all. Super disappointing.

Try brake torque launch? Your rpm setting on LC could be too low. People seem to think 2300+\- to be good

Race/stop lights and countdown for brake release. I've been too busy lately to have fun, but I don't recall seeing any of those features. Do you activate those additional features separately ?

I did a few launches since my last post. They've all worked, but I agree, there seems to be this moment of hesitation/loss of power. And I know it works because I go to my race/performance page, set the RPM, then watch the RPM hold exactly where I set it during full throttle hold, but upon letting off the brake, it leaves me feeling disappointed. Once it decides to take off, it's good, but that initial hesitation of power.....
There was only one launch at 2,300 rpm where it felt like I was expecting it to feel.
Note: All Launches were performed in SM.

I bet its the fact that the launch system does a spark cut during launch control brake/throttle cycle. Takes a sec to get back.

Bavanew, Haven’t done anything other than go into the racing screen. Yesterday was my first time. The screen above the steering wheel where it’s giving me instructions and showing brake pressure and stuff showed a stop light on the right hand side that went Red to Yellow to Green like at the race track... 🤷‍♂️

Theres a configurable shift light too. I haven’t messed with it though

What's the point of having it? I can hold the brake and launch it just the same without going into launch control. Also, it doesn't help you when your sitting at a light and the guy next to you wants to get it. It's only good if you're by yourself and you want to use it. Can't use it in a drag race, can't use it at the stop light. I haven't even tried mine. Probably won't. Not saying it's not a cool feature, but pretty useless.

All the cars I’ve driven with LC I do a few times for fun then never again. Power braking or just matting the gas seems more fun
I just posted that. Power braking works just as good. It's a cool feature, but pretty useless. Besides, I like power braking with traction control off. Chirps all 4 and gone.

The problem is that at around 3000 rpms, the brakes won’t hold.
I launch at about 2500. Seems to be the sweet spot. Launch control cuts the cylinders at a certain RPM anyway, so, you don't have full power even if you launch at 3500 or more. Just personal preference.

It principle, LC makes sense, it allows you to get to your desired RPM without having to worry about your brakes not holding. And full power is supposed to be restored immediately after you release the brake, therefore, whatever torque is being produced at a given RPM, is supposed to be delivered to drivetrain instantly. Apparently, that doesn't always translate into reality. Lol

With LC activated, my brakes don't hold at 2,500 rpm. Anything below seems fine. I haven't tried the brakes without LC. If the brakes will hold, at say, 2,300 RPM without using LC, then that should deliver a better launch than using LC.

Apparently, the timing is retarded. I've also read that power is only coming from 6 cylinders. Not sure which method is actually being applied during LC.

I’ve heard both. Unsure which is correct.

Ok, well, maybe it was there and I didn't notice that. I'll keep an out for the flag man during the next Launch. Lol
