My truck has been at the dealer for 12 weeks now. (NoLimitz module ended up being the issue, check thread)

Back in February, I took in my 2023 RAM TRX to the dealer for a check engine light "code P0850, Park/Neutral Switch performance".
They replace a solenoid first, didn't fix it, then the wiring harness, which took a few more weeks, then further troubleshooting where finally they decided to put in a whole new transmission.
Unfortunately, that didn't solve all issues so my truck has been at the dealer for 10 weeks now.
I have a case with RAM support who does follow up once in a while but doesn't seem to get much traction with the dealer.

Given that my truck is not qualifying anymore for the Lemon law, what other options do you believe I have to get either compensation or force a resolution (which I guess is hard to force...).

They gave me a loaner (the Hurricane sucks) but I think 10 weeks is really ridiculous given what we paid for the trucks.

If anyone has any advice based on similar experiences or knowledge of the law, that would be great. I am in Georgia.
Not ready to engage a lawyer yet but don't see many other options if this keeps going on.

Kind Regards,

Jordi.

Why is 10 weeks not enough time for them to figure this out? Sorry but i don't waiting longer will help them at this point. 10 weeks, is absurd.

What other dealers are in the area? Obviously there can be a huge difference from place to place.

I only take my truck to the dealer for certain services because they retained one older knowledgeable mechanic that really only works on the higher end vehicles that come in. Unfortunately many of these places don't have guys like that anymore that can problem solve.

If I’m reading this correctly it has been sitting for 10 weeks and in that time has several repairs done including an entire transmission.

just a valve rebuild kit for our powerstroke took almost a month to come in. I imagine most of the downtime was waiting for parts to arrive.

I engaged Ramcare after the first repair failed, they are the ones that opened a case. They are following up but they don't seem to have a lot of influence over the dealer.
I am in the Atlanta area so plenty of dealers but to me they are pretty much all the same, now that I am close to the end of my warranty, I kind of want to see it through at one place...And yes, some of the downtime was getting parts and getting permission to replace things especially the transmission...just trying to prepare myself in case this keeps lingering on...but not a whole lot of options...patience is a virtue but it does run out at some point....

Good luck.
Part of the problem could be dealerships are short staffed. In my f150, I had battery issues literally 4 days after taking it home....but when I called the dealership to make an appoint on a truck with ~90 miles on the OD...they basically put me off and said their Electrical Tech is backlogged with vehicles for 2 weeks... I ended up replacing the Ford H6 Battery with a Wally world H8. No issues since.

Even the local CDJR dealer here basically takes so long to do routine maintenance. I heard them saying the same thing that they are loaded with recalls and warranty repairs.

My truck was stuck at 2 different dealerships for 6 months over a 1 year period while they diagnosed a high pitch wind noise. I was assigned Mike MacDonald as my executive contact for customer to dealer relations. You may give him a try. I will warn you they are hard to get ahold of at corporate.

Thanks for that contact info...Already emailed corporate and our beloved CEO, so might as well keep going.....

Guys, please stop posting emails and phone numbers of Stellantis employees in public threads. If you want to share the info privately, fine. But Stellantis takes exception to publicly posting this stuff (as it is available to the entire internet). You would feel the same way if someone was posting your information, so I hope you understand where they're coming from on this.

I agree, 10 weeks is patently absurd. Before an attorney, is it possible for a “second opinion”? This can’t be so complex that your dealer is stumped. If the truck is drivable today, seek out a different dealer. I stopped doing 90 minute oil changes at my dealer for a 25 minute one at a local garage. Don’t wait another hour.

10 weeks is ridiculous and its not fixed.....keep in mind warranty work goes to the back of the line, compared to cash pay work.

You let them keep your truck for 6 months for a wind noise?

I have a star case with RAM so the factory engineers are helping the dealership with troubleshooting it. Cannot move it to a different dealer right now given it is probably not a simple issue...The sad thing is the truck drives fine, they have driven it many times themselves, just that stupid check engine light coming on....anyone has a sharpie....

If someone is in a rental that isn't typically true, dealers are penny pinchers and the service manager takes a hit for customers in rentals for extended periods of time. The tech wants to do the cash work first of course cause they don't get screwed by unfair labor times.

You have to remember the 10 weeks isn't a solid 8 hours a day of a tech trying to fix your truck, if they have a star case open they are waiting on a guy who works remotely from his couch to chime in and say hey try checking connector XXX for this, let me know..then that tech works on waiters and loses track of time pulls that truck back in sets the lift back up checks this reports back and it goes back out side until given the next steps.

You also have to think they want to fix your truck just as badly as you want your truck fixed, remain positive! Unnecessary actions and pressure creates stress for all parties involved, you don't want them to shot gun the wrong part again and not fix the truck right?

Hopefully they get it sorted! I've been on both sides(being an FCA tech with an unfixable vehicle, and being the customer with the unfixable vehicle!)

Update: After my wife blew up on me loosing the truck for so long, she called the dealership in a rage and suddenly they claim it has been fixed...nobody bothered to call me....that being said, the outcome or solution to fixing it doesn't make much sense. They blame the issue on my Z Automotive NoLimitz module that I installed for the security features it offers. I am supposed to meet with them tomorrow but they claim that after removing the module, the issue has not come back...they are ranting over $15k of parts and labor that were used to diagnose and fix it....I reached out to ZAutomotive as well. I didn't mention the module as I didn't see any correlation between a parking switch issue and the security module. I also had the module for months before the issue appeared....How many people here have that module without issues?....I am supposed to find out more tomorrow but figured I start poking around some. Obviously this could get ugly.
