My Story- 2021 Ram TRX

do those things really work to keep bugs off the windshield?
Honestly I don’t think so. I get the bug guard to help with rock chips. My 2020 Raptor with 13,000ish miles on it when I traded it in had zero rock chips on it. My previous truck was a 2012 Power Wagon with 60,000 miles on it and the only rock chip it had on the hood was where the bug guard wasn’t. We live in a state where they put gravel on the highway in the winter. It’s great…

How was the TRX on your ferry ride to San Juan Island? I ride the ferry a bit south of there nearly 2x/week on average. It’s a pretty tight fit on those ferries with my regular Ram 1500 when the deckhands direct me to the side lanes. I just ordered the TRX last week. I’ve been wondering how well the TRX will fit with its 8” extra width.

Love your thread…great stories and pics!

They sent me down the middle both times so it wasn’t bad. I had the Raptor down one of the side lanes and that was a bit tight.

Awesome up there! I just got back from Whidbey Island. There is a TRX or two up there but mainly hippies and hybrids lol

Maybe for you, but this is the second vehicle I’ve done this with. I’m happy with the results.
It’s good that you’re happy, but factory tinted glass doesn’t do a thing about keeping out heat/UV rays. Hence my “rookie move” comment. Even if you don’t like dark tint, consider doing all the windows in a light quality (ceramic) film.

I am a tint fanatic who always has 5% on all my glass, and even darker on my rear window and (unwanted) sunroof. I even have my second story of the house tinted with 35%.

Btw, I’ve never been a fan of silver, but your truck has me giving it serious consideration. Looking damn good!

Cool story.

I should do one about my back forth with the plant since becoming a YouTuber 🤣

I get the points you make. I just wanted something slightly darker inside, but not too dark. Come to think of it, this is the 3rd vehicle I’ve done this way (2012 Power Wagon, 2016 Challenger Hellcat, and now the TRX). The interior doesn’t get all that hot in Western Montana, but I do use a Weathertech front window shade in the summer (that stupid metal badge on the center console gets hot).

What’s life without a check engine light? Apparently this has happened to a few others in similar situations as mine. Heres a little more detail in another thread, but the truck goes in on Monday to have the dealer take a look at it. I’ll post results when the dealer is done with it. They said I can drive the truck for now without causing any damage (truck runs fine right now).
