Im really amazed in the auto world they do not require a "real" deposit on a ordered car, lets say 15%, no refund this would weed out all the "ill take one" BS and would sure help those with legit orders get there truck or car much sooner. Look at the jacked up mess ordering a zo6 is right now.
Yeah but it still screws up the overall system if theres a limited number of cars, does me no good to hear "oh we are not taking orders" when half the orders accepted are fakes. And you are a legit buyer. guess thats the way of the new world thoThe dealer isn't at much of a loss either way. "Worst" case is the buyer backs out on the order, and they get to keep the vehicle on their lot for inventory (which they likely wouldn't have had otherwise). They'll also be able to charger their regular margins, if not greater.
Also, depending on the state, it can actually be illegal for a dealer to keep a customer deposit.
they don't like it when they do....even though they can likely sell it they say that Ram frowns upon a customer car that then gets sold by the dealer.....too much and it could affect what they're allocated down the road.....

Most on here require a deposit, but it's refundable. That's not tremendously different from no deposit.Yes/no. I feel the dealers offering deep discounts AND requiring no deposit still represent the minority of the overall sales of that vehicle. There also aren't many that offer no deposit, many do require one. Most of these vehicles are not limited either, in terms of the number of orders that are allowed. Stellantis focuses on volume and brining in as much money as possible, even if that means breaking promises.
Fixed that for you. Granger very recently is offering no deposit (not sure how long that will last), everyone else still requires one. Most on here require a deposit, it's NON refundable.
That literally makes no sense. What if they both get cancelled? Better order 4.I’m not saying buy 2 but order 2 just incase 1 doesn’t show up for whatever reason

I think they wouldnt mind if you cancelled so they can sell it for more. They have nothing to lose.I saw that and I was a bit surprised. Granger has always required some sort of deposit on vehicle orders.
How does that make no sense? People are saying sometimes their order got canceled for whatever reason. So I ordered 2 just incase.. if they both get canceled then I guess wasn’t meant to beThat literally makes no sense. What if they both get cancelled? Better order 4.
You on the job? That literally makes no sense. What if they both get cancelled? Better order 4.
The dealers can be penalized by Stellantis if they have too many “sold orders” that aren’t sold to the original name listed on the order. So they do care.I think they wouldnt mind if you cancelled so they can sell it for more. They have nothing to lose.
Any that got cancelled was an anomaly. No need to overthink it. You order, get a VIN in a few days and sit back and relax. I still am. On my 32nd year as a FF/Paramedic. Retired once in Fl, started over and I got 6 years to get my 2nd retirement. You on the job?
Nice, I only got 10 on so I got a long way to go. I guess I can’t get into an argument about this with you since technically ur a senior guy and I’m still considered junior in my department lolAny that got cancelled was an anomaly.
