I went to take delivery of my Trx. Issues!

T
I went to pick up the TRX today. After the GM personally called me yesterday stating the PDI and cleaning was done. It toke them like couple hours. So I’m assuming it’s standard.

I went and looked at it today and the cosmetics were actually better than i had envisioned.

Issues:

1. Just some scratches on one of the finder flares. Which I requested to change and they said they have to ask the factory what they want to do. I don’t understand why not just order one like a good dealer.

2. (Since the GM said the PDI was done I wasn’t expecting this). But haven’t even started driving off the lot and the airbag light and failure message came on.

3. I felt nothing from all 4 Ventilated seats. I know how these seats feel on my Laramie and my buddy’s TRX. I know people with limited and i felt their seats too.

So I didn’t take delivery until they check it out.

Other than that I loved it.

Can someone tell me if your ventilated seats are weak? I felt nothing on all 4 seats!

GM said it came in with 12 miles. 23 miles when I got there. GM was nice but he had to leave for family stuff. Sales people are garbage. Always rushing me and annoyed when I complained about the vents.
In general all CDJR I have been to in California are garbage. Never makes me feel good about my purchase. Never felt happy always stressed around these dealers. And I’m not a soft guy I’ve been through hell and back in my life. So I’m not sensitive. But if it wasn’t for these toys I will never step a foot in any CDJR in California. Just garbage. I don’t know about other states. Ram should be embarrassed of their dealers. But I never got direct answers from Ram Care ether when I needed them. Ram Care, at least through e-mail are almost like a bot.

Here are couple pictures. The person in the reflection is a sales person. I’m much better looking!😏
That’s a shame these lame f@cks turned what should be a happy & worry free experience into a stressful and less than a great one for you. If only people could do their respective jobs RIGHT, this wouldn’t have happened. 🤬
Im picking my truck tomorrow, and while super stoked, am ready for the unexpected. Hope your issues get resolved in a timely and satisfactory fashion! Keep the updates coming how things go. Cheers

Agreed if you even look at the flares funny they scratch like crazy. Really a shame....

Surprised no one else said anything, but hopefully you broke the truck in before you did a 0-60 run?

You know I was thinking about that. I did not do that. Which is the reason why I posted a picture on here. I assumed it’s from the factory or the dealer test. If not then I’m gonna have a talk with the GM because I specifically told him to watch his Guys for things like that. Because anytime I brought my Laramie at this dealer for oil change I saw my MPG was 12.5 which is ridiculous because I get 14.5 and 13.5 when I really abuse it. So wtf are they doing to get 12.5!

Can anyone else comment on that?

I toke that picture before I started driving it for test.

I take my to CDJR in Murrieta ( 425 Motor Way 951-652-7900) which is an hour north to me, but it’s worth it, they are a power dealer which means they have mechanics on site to deal with high-performance cars. My service advisors name Jessica is insanely great, always communicates always follow through. So I’ve had everything done for my oil change to my engine, blew up and the factory sent a brand new crate engine with a brand new supercharger and brand new Cadillac converters, and gave me a Laramie longhorn for free for three months. Change over this dealership you’ll be glad you did no matter how far away is.
everything you outlined in your post is all nitpicking shit that Jessica could have taken care of in a heartbeat, I wouldn’t worry about it, and I wouldn’t wait another six months to try and get another one, even if you could.

Probably long time idling. Check always your miles and compare.

I’m getting on average between 8.5 - 9.5 gpm, a little aggressive, but in no way, using the launch control every time I come to the stoplight but, I do get into it most of the time.

Its time for you to drive that $ 100,000.00 truck of yours like the Ram engineers designed it to do, even my 90 year old mom wouldn't get more than 11 mpg 🥴🔫

Time to quit worrying about the gpm and drive it like you stole it !

I mean this not to sound shitty of judgmental I promise you: with gas praising rising like they are and you can thank your lucky stars you’re not here in California because it’s almost 6 dollars a gallon, if this truck is just going to be too expensive for you to run (especially if this is going to be your every day car ) then it’s time to get rid of it and put this off till another day when the cost per gallon doesn’t matter anymore!

I don’t even have the truck bud. We are talking about something else. You have to read the post from the beginning. I was giving an example of why my Laramie was abused at the dealer every time I take it in for oil change. We are just wondering why did the dealer do a test run 0-60 on a brand new truck with 12 miles and if it’s healthy?

I’m a ”glancer”so stand corrected, my apologies!

I bet it’s a lot quieter with those brand new Cadillac converters…LMAO

Did you check to see if you can hear the seat fans running? The seats are not air-conditioned. Rather, seat fans blow air from under the seats. You should be able to hears the fans running, especially if they are set on "high". If you can't hear them running, check the fuse. Good luck with your truck!

I get 8.5-9.5 normally… it bumps up to about 12.5 after a long highway drive… then is back down in the 9s a day later.

Your experience is pretty consistent with that of just about everyone that didn’t use one of the three or four top volume TRX dealers… even granger had a period in 2022 where they put a couple hundred out with really shitty PDI… fortunately they were active on the forum and a bit of public shaming had them totally revamp their PDI process.

I didn’t pick it up. They’re going to check it Monday. Along with why airbag light is on!

I have a 10 hour drive to Koons early in the morning. You guys think if I have fenders scratched or paint chips or whatever that needs to be addressed, I will be able to bring it to a local CDJR for them to take care of it? I have no time to hang out in Virginia to have it all done by the dealer I’m buying it from.

At this point that’s the least of your problems. CDJR dealers are terrible. I almost wanna take my 112k and go buy me another car.

I feel your pain, man. On the bright side, you can do a lot with 112K… I hear Audi SQ8’s are not ugly with good horse power.. decisions, decisions.

I just say that but I’m in love with the TRX. And I love my Ram Laramie GT too. I only hate two things about the Ram brand.

1. The dealers
2. The little “dodge” errors we have to deal with.

Mopar make bad ass cars. But then f$@?;up somewhere in between.

Ford is just as bad if not worse. I am waiting for a domestic brand to really nail the customer experience for us truck owners but will not hold my breath. Not very hopeful. I am a truck guy through and through, but wish I could have a Lexus/Porsche experience when buying and servicing my trucks.
