Good and Bad News

I am sure you are aware of the precautionary treatments. But in case you are not, you should be taking a baby aspirin everyday, Vit D3 up to 5000IU Daily, and then possibly some melatonin. I know this sounds silly and I am the last person to push home remedies but these three have some pretty good support in the literature. You may want to double up on the Vit D the first day or two. The aspirin thins your blood preventing the clotting that is seen in severely impacted pts. Good luck and as Delano said take advantage of it. Get all the little tasks done while you rest.
Just out of curiosity, Futant, given your knowledge, what do you do for a living?

Well, dealer called and my truck is there. YES!!!!!!!!

Dr. called 10 minutes later, I’m positive for Covid. Well fuck! Now I’m on lockdown till end of next week.

Trying to work out paperwork to do online then see if I can get someone I trust to pick it up.
Sounds like you get to quarenteen in your new TRX for two weeks. F-yeah! Just have them courier you the docs to your house or something. Congrats!

Seriously tho, I am a physician. Here is a pretty decent list of things we can do at home if we become infected. I can’t comment on the science completely but all of these do have some support in the literature. And they are pretty benign.

i should also place a disclaimer that this is an Internet forum and that you have no way of verifying my claims or who I am so you need to consult with your personal physician before taking any of these products. Please do not take my advice as absolute or appropriate for your personal care.

Salesman isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer but he’s nice enough. It seemed to completely befuddle him to do stuff remotely. I’m a trial court judge and I’ve been doing divorces, granting adoptions and putting people in jail from my recliner. It kinda puzzles me when someone gets confused by simply doing a business transaction remotely.

They are going to do spray in bedliner and looking at the Mopar power steps so that will take a few days
I live in NYC and mY truck is in N.Carolina My dealer sent the paperwork overnight from Carolina at 4pm yesterday I got it at 7am in NYC today! Signed and sealed I pick up my truck tomorrow morning! Long story short they can get it it to you 1 way or another its just about you giving them the direction as some of these guys aren't the sharpest tools in the shed! Any how Wishing you and your family the best of health! Get well soon! That goes to everyone that's been hit by this pandemic as well! God bless

Doing all of those but the B1 and the “loading dose” of D. Been taking regular doses of D. Got the Mucinex but hadn’t taken it yet. Thanks for the advice.

You post simply confirmed what my PCP has said.

I think if you have been on Vit D then just continue the regular dose as you are. 👍

That protocol assumes mild to moderate symptoms. If you feel your symptoms are worsening, you'll want a potent corticosteroid and to protect against secondary bacterial colonization of the lungs. Just stay in touch with your physician and if he doesn't respond appropriately you can give me a call Judge. ;)

P.S. Congrats on the truck!

I also slept in a holiday inn last night. Glad to see a colleague who also digs the big ole truck and the bikes.

Very true. But steroids are still reserved for (I believe) beyond 7 days out from initial infection to allow the body to mount an immune response. That doesn’t negate the fact that every case is different and someone may decide to start steroids because the overwhelming response the body has generated is now off the tracks and wreaking havoc. This is meant to be a general discussion and nothing more.

Yea, the urgent care that did the test wrote me script for antibiotic. The rapid test was negative but PCR came back positive. I wasn’t sure if the antibiotic was in case my symptoms were a sinus infection after the negative test or to prevent a secondary infection.
