Fuel Door or Gas Cap lock

Any grease, vaseline, etc on the neck to help? Maybe our orange IE trucks are special! 😎
Nope...and of course!!

Well...I ordered one during the small window of "yes it fits" and "no it won't". If you slide it on from 10 o'clock, where the rubber boot is soft, it slides on/locks/slides off fairly easily!

From what I hear fuel doesn't last long enough in a trx to steal anyway lol
Originally from NY...and a kid once...so I don't want anyone putting stuff in either!

So everything's working as intended, does it seem fairly secure? Find it weird that they made it seem like it was a big hassle to get it to fit, when you seem to have got it pretty easily

Looking at the area it is pretty tight so maybe it was just them trying to cover their butts vs saying sure it fits?

If you try and slide the cap on from back to front (as recommended) it tends to get wedged because the front rubber is stiffer., and the fender blocks the angle a little. The back rubber can be pushed in, and I found it fairly easy to follow the directions and securely slide the cap over the neck and lock it. I put it on/off numerous times and the rubber boot showed no wear.

Sorry for opening up an old thread, but has anyone since had luck with the gas cap? This is identical to the one offered by BEM auto and I am considering it for my new '27. Thanks.

Why? To prevent siphoning? Don't gas thieves just drill a hole in the gas tank now?

Maybe, but I don't live in Idaho where this probably isn't a concern ;). In New York, it's a thing and while a locking gas cap is a small deterrent, I will take any protection I can get.

I have a BEM lock for my TRX so some psycho doesn’t try to pour something into my gas tank. I’ve come back to my truck a couple times to see the gas cap open so maybe my paranoia is warranted. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve had BEM locks on other vehicles, it’s good quality. I’m looking forward to getting this one in the mail and installing it.

I have the Geno's garage lock on mine. It's easy to get on and off once you get the hang of having it clocked in the right position. Not worried as much about fuel theft as some POS putting something in the tank which I've had happen on another vehicle.

I've had Geno's garage lock on mine for about a year, no issue so far.

Just ordered one from Geno's Garage after gas prices jumped 👀
The BEM looks identical to the Geno's. I've had a Geno's Garage cap since I first got my truck works excellent. Won't stop everyone but will stop most. Got mine so they wouldn't try and put things in my tank. As others have said most stealing fuel will pop your tank. Death to theives!
