Driveshaft TSB

Mine has been clunking for a few months. I took it to the dealer about a week after it started. They told me they can only replace the boot and regress it so they ordered the parts. A month and half later still no call the parts came in so I called them. They claimed the parts just arrived that week (sure). So I scheduled my visit, I there 15 minutes early.

They said it will take 3 hours so I had to wait, wellllll 2 hours later I noticed my truck still in the service entrance. So I asked if it was done and they claim they couldn't find the parts and they would have to reorder them. So two hours wasted for nothing and now I am on week 2 still waiting for the parts.

That's part of the reason why I do simple shit like this myself....drive to the dealer, wait around for hours, then drive home...no thanks. If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, it will take you about an hour to do it yourself, laying on the floor of your garage. 3 hours is insanity for a professional mechanic with a lift.

Buy the clamps from McMaster-Carr and the grease from Amazon and knock it out yourself. The video above is what I used to familiarize myself with the process.

Gave in myself, have the eastcoast shaft ordered, enough of this garbage!

I hope I am wrong, but many people reported the clunk coming back after about a year with the East Coast shaft. I just installed mine so time will tell if it returns.

They should probably take down the clunk free part on the AD

That would suck, well can lube up the oem and at least get hopefully a couple years clunk free between the two.
