Driveshaft TSB

Pretty sure mine is the AF driveshaft and clunk came back about 6-8 months after install. Definitely change in design of the slip yoke interface as the machining on the female side is no longer a through hole.

Man, I hope that doesn't happen....

Just had AF replacement installed and Tech couldn’t find any appreciable difference from the AE that was swapped. I only noticed it @ 22K but probably was happening sooner. It is nice to be gone but if (probably when) it returns I will install the East Coast unit

Had mine replaced about a year ago , it came back a couple months after that, still have it, kinda getting used to it but still bothers me, is this TSB a new one?

I go in for my replacement on my 22 next week with 7k miles on it started at around 4k. Will see how it goes

Starting to think my 22 has it. Im just over 10k now. Feels like a little bumper tap at some stops and a stuck break at some take offs. Not sure if that's what you all have but if so guess I'm in for the new one.

That’s it. It can be worse though. It drove me nuts

Had that creeping feeling, my truck has been amazing and so far its not really bad. Seems to come and go but ok I will call service and have it done. Thank you for the heads up

I never had the clunk with my stock shaft, but I swapped mine out around 20,000 miles for an EC drive shaft. I still have my stock shaft wrapped up if anyone doesn’t want to wait on the dealership, it’s a pretty easy swap in the driveway.

Can’t believe this thread has gone on for so long without someone saying this:
I have an AF driveshaft…it’s ClunkyAF.
(For all you old geezers, “AF” means something - type it into the Google to see).

To be fair I just got told mine is becoming ClunkyAF!

Got the new AF driveshaft installed yesterday morning. Dropped it off at 8AM and it was ready by noon. Kudos to Covert CDJR in Bee Caves for the quick turn around.

Clunk went away so far. Time will tell if it's a permanent fix. 🤞 🤞 🤞

Did mine months ago , the clunk is a thing of the past

Just had this new shaft ending in AF replaced today. Clunk is gone again, for the 4th time now. We'll see how long this time lasts... I fully intended to talk with the tech to see if there was a difference he noticed in the new one versus old one but time didn't allow for it. So we'll see if it actually fixes it or not.

Each fix usually doesn't last me more than a few weeks, so I'll report back after some time whether it's clunking or not.
I've been debating posting here the past few weeks because I don't want to jinx anything (yet here I am) but the clunk has remained gone for me with the shaft replacement ending in AF.

It's been roughly 8 weeks and zero sign of it, most of it through very hot weather which tended to exacerbate the clunk. It NEVER lasted more than about 1-2 weeks tops with the other 'fixes', regardless of mileage. But for those wondering, I've probably put on a little over 1K miles (the other grease bulletins or other replacement driveshaft 'fixes' lasted no more than 100 miles or so before it came back).

Prayers it stays gone for good 🤞

Only four hours to swap out a driveshaft?

Man, those dealer techs are good.
