Dram of the Day

Just so you know WildRide, our resident thread creator, moderator and hoarder of high end spirits washes his TRX with that stuff while he's meandering.

You and I might enjoy that bottle but he scoffs, upturns the nose and mocks our uneducatedemness.

But I'm envious of your dram and it's been far too long since I've had it. 65% though!? I must have "forgotten" that part. ;)

J

P.S. TReX-RAM..... You're not wrong.
I also think he mixed it with Pepsi Zero!! LOL

I'm fortunate enough to get bourbon at cost or SRP... and most from BT and other top producers are worth that.

I would never pay the prices that some retailers ask. Just like I wouldn’t pay 10k over sticker for a TRX.

OK guys, I am new to this Whiskey/bourbon thing.....

I visited and tasted at the Jack Daniels Distillery last time I was in TN, and since then I have enjoyed Gentleman Jack.

What are the next three that I can pick up at my local store to try, as I work my way up......

If you're partial to Jack, try the single barrel or the Sinatra edition. There are a lot of better whiskies at a cheaper price in my opinion.

Just key off of anything SoulSea says which in essence means to keep your eyes open for a bottle of Blanton's. The regular stuff, nothing fancy. ;)

Thanks Guys!

Sitting here enjoying my Gentleman Jack.

I think that gives me a list of 3-5 to get me started.

Very much appreciated!!
I am not sure what all is readily available on the west coast, but my go to daily drinkers are McKenna 10yr BIB, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Blade and Bow (I am a big fan of the wheated bourbons), Michter's Small batch is good as well.

If you can find the BT products, they are good as well, I love some Weller 107, best bang for your buck!

A little B-Day gift from an employee. This wasn’t bad at all, I expected it to be a little less after other review(s) here 🙂 Cheers!

I never said Blanton's was bad, I just said it isn't worth the hype.

Me calling it 'the Submariner of the bourbon world' isn't an insult. :)

After several days of reading I finally made it through this amazing thread.

Funny, I came to this forum to learn about the TRX and instead have learned volumes about Whiskey and interestingly enough the one bottle I currently have is the Basil Hayden Dark Rye which I am enjoying immensely.

No sunset to share but I have a larger image of the morning view from my lanai

“It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents—except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness.”

I hope your drinks were better than the (purple) prose
