Dram of the Day

I'm with you. 1942 is one of mine too. I've also got the Primavera, but prefer the 1942 over it. Hoping the Ultima is better 🤞
Tequila Corner - found some primavera at BevMo for $125 a bottle so grabbed a few - but your palate is spot on with mine - I prefer the 1942 to it...

Well, I am glad I found this post! This is right in my wheelhouse. Going to get some pictures posted up as soon as I get to the bottles. I'm a big bourbon and rye fan, but also Canadian whiskey, Irish whiskey, and a dabble in tequila a bit.

Finally my hang out got my Heiney

I saw some of these at the store here in N TX this week. Curious how they are.
Shit… her looks are so enticing… how could it be anything but delicious.🙃🙃🙃 Will let you know when I pop the cork. Cheers.

Big American whiskey fan over here, so I thought I's start a thread just so folks can post what they're drinking at any given time.

My current daily rotation includes McKenna 10, Heaven Hill 7, Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel, and Wilderness Trail, and there's some stuff in the back for more special occasions. :)

You guys can get this rolling cause I'm on the back end of my dry January, so no drink for me till 12:00.01 Feb 1st.

It doesn't have to be bourbon or rye, for the purposes of this thread it can also be Scotch, or Japanese, or whatever other type of whiskey.

As always, pics or we don't believe you. :)

Sooooo
Scotch: I love Smokey whisky so my go to's is Laphroaig and Ardbeg. I dream of Octomore.

Rye: Whistlepig, Knob Creek and sometimes Bulliet.

Bourbon: Makers Mark, Knob Creek.

And then their is the "I will try any recommendation"

I don't like Jack or Jim or Crown.

I'm not sure why but I wasn't a big fan of it. After I coughed up that much I think I had my expectations too high.

You really enjoy it?

I have a love/meh relationship with KO. I think the Confiscated is the most overpriced thing in the bourbon universe, and their ryes aren't far behind. It's not that they aren't good, is just that for the most part they aren't worth the price of admission. Their yearly bourbon releases are a little different though. yes they are pricey but at worst they are almost worth it and at best they are exceptional and more than worth it.

The other reason that for me their bourbons teeter from either side of awesomeness and disappointment is due to the alcohol content. I struggle with 120 proof whiskey, it's a personal thing that finds no joy in throat violence ... for example I hate Stagg Jr, and that's bourbon snob nirvana for some reason. They can have all of it.

To answer your question imo this year's KO release gets it right, it is delicious, the proof doesn't destroy the wonderful complexity, it is to me worth it.
