Try Laphroig. Itβs my favorite single malt and is like drinking a campfireTried this last night. It was OK....While I love the smokiness of Lagavulin and Ardbeg scotches....the smoke flavor of this whiskey just tastes "off" to me. Cool bottle art though!View attachment 10769
Yes, I love Laphroaig. This stuff just isn't in the same league, it tastes like they drizzled a little fake liquid smoke into it.....its almost salty tasting. Strange.Try Laphroig. Itβs my favorite single malt and is like drinking a campfire
I get hints of sea/salt in some single malts but in a good way.Yes, I love Laphroaig. This stuff just isn't in the same league, it tastes like they drizzled a little fake liquid smoke into it.....its almost salty tasting. Strange.
Yes, I know what you mean. I wish the taste and aroma from this bottle was more appealing. I really love Islay scotches, and this whiskey is nothing like them. I'll drink it, but probably use it more as a base than a sipper. Manhattans, Old fashioned, paper planes, etc.I get hints of sea/salt in some single malts but in a good way.
Iβm happy with basil hayden dark rye and laphroig as my only options for brown liquor. I once had a 38yr charred sherry cask glenmorangie bespoke bottling from berry bros & rudd that was fucking excellent but at $750 a bottle it was too much.Yes, I know what you mean. Sounds awesome. I am really enjoying the Dark Rye, that was a killer suggestion. 750 is a bit steep....especially since it would only last me a week or so if it was that good!Iβm happy with basil hayden dark rye and laphroig as my only options for brown liquor.
