this question here. I had flowmaster exhaust system on my 2005 ram 1500 Laramie back in 2012. (i think is was the 40 super series but I don't remember)Is there any drone with these?
I am leaning towards the Borla exhaust, but also I am concerned about the drone in the cab. I think while towing TFL was showing 70-73 dB in the driver seat with just the OEM exhaust. I wish Borla, or any company that makes these exhaust systems, would post real data with a decibel meter in and around the vehicle and at highway speeds. I guess this opens the door for any of you youtube stars on this forum.
With the upcoming launch of the Corsa exhaust system, this question pertains to those who have either held off on purchasing an exhaust system to see what Corsa was finally going to come out with OR those who have had experience with both in the past and plan on switching it up. From the videos I have watched, Borla seems to have that deeper rumble in comparison to the Corsa (based on video). I can't remember who it was that currently has the Corsa setup in this forum. Maybe they could shed some light.

Better material and finish that no one can admire unless they are under the vehicle??I just dont see the benefit of a $3000 corsa exhaust when you can get a damn near similar outcome for like $300 either with the straight pipe or loudmouth mufflers.
exactly my point haha - if the factory exhaust wasnt so good id get it but its damn close to what these after market exhausts are putting out. Granted I havent heard the difference of factory, muffler delete, loudmouth, corsa and borla compared in person but in videos I cant really tell any difference.Better material and finish that no one can admire unless they are under the vehicle??
The OEM material is stainless steel as well and same size just not polished stainless. Borla has a more refined tone with the switchfire. Someone in another thread that had SLPs went with borla and they didn't regret either route but shared the borla had more depth and was more aggressive in the mid range.Better material and finish that no one can admire unless they are under the vehicle??
what about the QTP cutouts and $900? seems like that would be a more affordable option and you keep the stock exhaust sound and all and you open the cutouts when you wanna screamI just dont see the benefit of a $3000 corsa exhaust when you can get a damn near similar outcome for like $300 either with the straight pipe or loudmouth mufflers.
I wanna say CatchMeOffroad had cutouts (not sure which brand) and went with a welded exhaust. Valves over time tend to be a headache...especially if you off road and they are constantly taking abuse.what about the QTP cutouts and $900? seems like that would be a more affordable option and you keep the stock exhaust sound and all and you open the cutouts when you wanna scream
i dont plan to heavily offroad so that would probably be a good approach. I dont have my truck yet but i imagine ill be more than happy with the MBRP muffler delete im gonna throw on. Also looking at your signature has my heart breaking for you. Thats terrible dude whats their answer for going D1 back to D twice?what about the QTP cutouts and $900? seems like that would be a more affordable option and you keep the stock exhaust sound and all and you open the cutouts when you wanna scream
My AWE finished installing AWE cat back yesterday

Honestly I was not even thinking about the QTP cut outs. I guess if you go through deep water offroading that might not be good? What other cons would you suggest if you heavily offroad?i dont plan to heavily offroad so that would probably be a good approach. I think a combination of water, dust and mud getting in there ends up screwing up the valve flaps on the cutout. That and also maybe the repeated shocks from hard running would be what Id say based on everything I have seen.Honestly I was not even thinking about the QTP cut outs. Thanks! The only explanation I got from my dealer was parts were supposed to arrive for my truck by my 1st ESD and they didn't so they kicked me back to D. As much as I want to believe that it is very hard since other trucks were getting cranked out. Personally I have a sneaking suspicion the Stellantis Q2 results may play a part. Get the newer vins out and delivered and post that as profit while the older vins are taking longer since they were cheaper at the time they were ordered. That is my theory.
The X pipe makes this brand DOA for me, The whole idea is to eliminate back pressure and the H pipe design by AWE does exactly that, and it gives you some added horsepower at the top end.I went SLP as well and have no regrets but since you asked corsa vs borla.....
I think borla looks cooler and might sound better. I like corsa as a brand more but the corsa TRX seems like its still an X-pipe with another X-pipe and bullet style mufflers. The borla system seems very interesting with the switchfire.
Corsa basically seems like a factory exhaust with SLP style muffler swaps and a near factory style X-pipe/K-pipe thing in the middle. Borla looks like a refined straight pipe with better sound balancing from their switchfire mid-section.
I've read the opposite. That an H pipe is weaker on the top end.The X pipe makes this brand DOA for me, The whole idea is to eliminate back pressure and the H pipe design by AWE does exactly that, and it gives you some added horsepower at the top end.
