Black TRX with Xpel Stealth

For those that wrapped with a matte finish, how has it held up? Seems like OP should have about a years and others many months. Any issues with it so far? Does your truck live outside?
The OP sold his truck but he is still on this forum and should be able to still provide feedback.
The PPF has held up on my truck pretty well. I have been abusive to it and had to replace some swaths where I ripped it with branches and dented some body panels. But it saved the paint.
If you do the ceramic as a topcoat it helps keep it clean. You have to take care of it though. You have to watch the PH balance in some of the soaps you use. I don't let anybody wash it and I stay far away from the drive-thru car wash centers.
It is very pricey regardless if you do the clear or stealth. The stealth (matte) typically costs a little more. Some installers will take the badges and graphics off which add a little more cost.
This is my first vehicle with ppf since I typically lease vehicles. But since I purchased the TRX it was a no brainer for me. I will do it again on my next purchased vehicle(s).

Mine won't have the luxury of a garage, so I'm someone concerned about the sun and weather wearing it down. My truck will mostly be on the road and most offroad would be open without trees. The most likely dangers to my paint will be people's doors and road rash. That said, I really like the look of it and if it keeps it more consistent over time, it would be worth it. Is yours kept in a garage?

Xpel Stealth is a matte paint protection film wrap.
Ceramic Pro is just a transparent layer of ceramic coating on top of the wrap that protects it and makes it less porous.
How will it hold up in an off roading environment, will rocks rip the material?

Negative, mine enjoys So Cal weather and smog. It is too big to fit in the garage.

Hi,

I did post this in my build thread and I'm not intentionally cross posting for attention, but I thought that it might get buried in there without members, especially newer ones been able to search for it. And as I think I'm either the first one or thereabouts to do this, I thought I would do a separate thread so folks can see what it looks like and if it's something they want to consider.

I'll take pics in the sun if it ever comes back, but for now this will give you an indication of what to expect if you wrap a black TRX with Xpel Stealth.

Wow, it looks incredible 🙌 I’m tempted. Mine is white. How does this do with the dirt?

mine is holding up well almost 2 years with ppf. Few tiny rock chips in the film, and some slight film peeling around 2 door handles.

For those who did a black PPF, did you purchase a black skid plate or did you wrap the original skid plate?

Black skid plate, don’t think they can wrap it due to the texture but not sure, skid plate at the time was only like 300 bucks and makes a world of difference

Could just take it off.
