Best Brake Upgrade?

If one were to forego running 18s and move up to 20s. At that point is it a no-brainer to go with the Wilwood TX6R? I don't see an equivalent for the rears which is disappointing but perhaps it's just a matter of finding the right parts.

I am leaning more and more towards 20s anyway so I can find tires that have a better speed rating so this could perhaps convince me.

From my own research the Rotara is the best 4 corner kit on 20's, and if they were in the 6500'ish range I'd snatch them.

I'm running Falken wildpeak on my 20's and they've been great. My primary concern is snow capabilities and stability, the stock tires were loud, kinda shit in snow and vibrated above 80, and our speed limit is 80.

Are those aftermarket rear BBK retaining the factory e parking brake?

Have you installed the rear kit on your TRX and can testify its functionality by parking on grades, or just learned it from internet?

Big Brake Kit for TRX
Do you have some test results on your kit showing delta in stopping distances (both cold and heat soaked)?

We don't. These data are for marketing purpose that we usually don't get involved.

ive had the wilwood kit on my truck for the better portion of a year and a half and would have bought that same kit again today. i do wish i had something on the rear end to complete the look but as far as performance on and off-road, I am completely satisfied with the purchase.

I installed the Rotora HD kit on mine (fits under stock 18" wheels), did a whole write-up on it in this forum, and have certainly tested its functionality. It retains full EPB capability, and to my knowledge, is the ONLY kit to do so (at least using stock wheels). I never understood the attraction to these front-only setups. Yes, the fronts do more work (usually), but a decent amount of stopping power comes from the rear as well. Plus the fact that it looks very half-assed to have nice, two-piece, slotted rotors up front with big, shiny performance-looking calipers, and that little pathetic-looking single-piston crap-fest in the rear. But that's just me.

The attraction of the front only setup might come after driving one and saving yourself 4,500. Looks wise I agree.

I’m just worried about the kits that use smaller than stock pads and thin friction surface rotors.

I’m mean if you’re drag racing it won’t matter, but with how the oem set up already suffers on the street, I wouldn’t want an undersized brake kit.

Increased mu bite might seem cool at first, but it doesn’t make for a great kit.

I have pushed them hard and they keep asking for more. If I got another TRX I would swap this set off and put them on the new truck. Its how it should have been built at the factory.

Im looking at getting the rotora... How aggressive have you ran them?
Same as above, we ran them hard in the Georgia mountains and they basically laughed at me. Our truck is heavier as it had a chase rack and two 20" 37 spares in the bed, it was like nothing. Shoot me over a PM and we can set you up with a forum discount.

I should note- I run the larger brake kit (wont fit with stock wheels). Bought 20” vossens from srg_joe and could not be happier with the entire setup.
