Anyone with TREX or Hellcat side badges?

@BigRay Nice! Are you able to do it in the cutout version instead of the black background? Hard to tell in the pic, is the lighter looking part matte? Also, could you do the same logo with Hellcat instead of Trex head? Not certain which I want to go with yet, so curious.

The TRX has a Hellcat engine (complete with Hellcat markings) and only RAM (and a few on this forum) choose not to acknowledge that fact. For RAM it's because of branding. What's your excuse?

Looks like I missed something, again. Who has claimed that the TRX doesn't have the same engine as a Hellcat??

Ram understandably calls it a 6.2 supercharged engine, as does Dodge and Jeep, since that's what it is.
Put that engine in a Dodge Challenger, Charger, or Durango, and the model of the vehicle is a Hellcat.
In other words, "Hellcat" isn't an engine, it's a vehicle.

Ford 7.3 gas - Godzilla
Ford 5.0 - Coyote
6.2 supercharged Hemi - Hellcat

Oh, is that how it is? I need to read up on this stuff, improving on getting influenced by articles written by people who can't quite keep their facts straight.

So far I have foolishly relied on what Dodge and Ram calls the vehicles they produce, and (to some extent) the badges they come with.

Apparently I also need to get more in tune with what people think their vehicles identify as.
You just like to argue... and you should identify with said articles as you seem to suffer a similar affliction.

When you have a moment, you should probably have a chat with Ram and tell them they need to remove the 'Hellcat' logo from the motor in this vehicle... perhaps you should call them to task on using a "dodge" motor in a "ram" truck to begin with... the audacity!

The model is Challenger, Charger, or Durango. "Hellcat" is more of an options package than it is anything else... an option package that reflects the specific motor being used in the vehicle.

Not up on those, but can you buy a Ford Godzilla, or a Ford Coyote, or are they engines in various Ford models?
Walk into your local Dodge dealer and tell them "I want a Dodge Hellcat." and tell me what happens. I suspect the next question they ask is what MODEL you want... since "Dodge Hellcat" doesn't identify a specific vehicle, does it?

Yes, as I recall, if you go on Build and Price and then pick Challenger, there are two models called Hellcat.

Correct, it does not. It'd be either a Charger or a Challenger.
But at least at a Dodge dealer you can get a Hellcat. Unlike at Ram, and in the past, Jeep.

Yes I can make it a cutout version! Yes that is a matte black, and yes i can replace it with the hellcat.

Let me know what you decide on!

Awesome! Have you had it side by side with the OEM badges to see if it is the same color matte black? I only ask because if I replaced the one on the tailgate they would be relatively close to the "RAM" emblem in the center.

I'm fully aware of the availability of the 6.2 crate engines.
And I also know that a Hellcat comes from the factory with the appropriate emblems inside and out already applied.

I could put the engine from my Hellcat in my Challenger GT, but that doesn't make it a Hellcat. It'd still be just a GT, but with the same engine as in a Hellcat.

I see where you’re coming from.
Although, I don’t think anyone is trying to call their TRX’s a Ram Hellcat.

Well, it's strongly implied if putting cat skulls on the TRX, I think.

That's why I like the idea of the custom made T-rex badges instead. Those are a way to reinforce the TRX itself, as opposed to using Dodge badging on a Ram.

Oh, you mean like the 'cat skull' that is on the Dodge motor inside of every...single...TRX?

Man, the manufacturer must be 'implying' something... can't quite put a finger on it though.

That's a lot like that Caterpillar doesn't grind off or remove their markings when their engines go in vehicles other than what they build themselves.

When they build the 6.2s I seriously doubt that they know what vehicle the engine will end up in, so they all get the same little "badge". Could the vehicle manufacturer change that as they receive or install the engines? Sure, but why?

Besides, I doubt that Jeep or Ram owners mind having the Dodge "badge" on their engines.
I know that I don't, as it's invisible to the outside world.

It's so bizarre to me that you are acting as though there's zero connection between Dodge and Ram. Who hurt you?

Yes, it IS a Hellcat engine in the TRX. The only reason that RAM won't call the engine in a TRX a Hellcat, is because RAM is trying to distinguish itself from Dodge as a separate distinct division. The trucks are no longer Dodge Rams. The Hellcat designation was used by Dodge products and again, RAM is trying to distinguish itself from Dodge.

Bottom line: The TRX has a Hellcat engine (complete with Hellcat markings) and only RAM (and a few on this forum) choose not to acknowledge that fact. For RAM it's because of branding. What's your excuse?
I agree 100%, Not to mention the 5 hp difference between Ram and the Dodge vehicles. It’s strictly to separate branding of the vehicles. If anyone was smart enough to open the hood and see the emblem on top of the blower surely they are smart enough to understand that we are only replicating and identifying the engine in the vehicle when we choose to put a hellcat emblem on the side. No different than a 5.0 mustang, an Audi TT, a Duramax, power stroke and so on. Those that choose to argue the fact obviously struggle with identifying and relation of things in life. Just my opinion

Look on top of the engine, the markings identify as a “Hellcat”. No difference in looking between someone’s legs, it’s identification.

My Dodge Ram identifies as a Hellcat at times. Or maybe it identifies as a TRX with a Hellcat? Who the f^ck cares, I love this damn thing.
To each their own for crying out loud.
Well, unless you are putting the stupid dino head on your truck, just don't do it! :ROFLMAO:
