AMP or Mopar steps?

So, don't fight it, do yourself a favor and remove the DRIVER SIDE wheel well liner and DRIVER SIDE wheel and tire. I highly recommend the Mopar Power Steps though.
I didnt remove either wheel liner, I used a fish tape and ran it along the wheel liner. Let me put it exactly where I wanted it, no fighting and honestly made the install less than an hour total.

I have the mopars on my TRX and I installed the Amps on my wifes Jeep.
The installation of the Mopars is 100x easier (1 hour install vs 6 hour), the integration of the UCONNECT system is awesome (you can easily deploy at car washes etc).
I also think the Mopar are more streamlined and clean looking. The Amps deploy a LITTLE faster but are also much louder deploying IMO.

I dont regret the Mopars at all.
I’ve had both and also prefer the Mopar steps

I had my dealer do the Mopars. Awesome integration and zero issues (and full warranty).

I bought the Mopar power steps and installed them myself on my 2022 TRX. Personally, I normally gravitate toward OEM most of the time. I can't speak for the AMP Steps but I will say that the fit and function of the Mopar power steps are perfect and after the install look just as they should, like they came installed from the factory and not some after thought. I just wish they were a factory installed option. Doing the install myself, I will say there is no way in HELL that I would allow a dealer to install them on my truck. I avoid dealers touching my vehicles at all cost if possible. If you plan to install them yourself, Butter Da Great has a very helpful install video on YouTube which I watched. The only thing I would add differently is I recommend removing the DRIVER SIDE wheel well liner and the DRIVER SIDE wheel and tire. It is possible to accomplish the task without removing the Driver Side, BUT, it makes the job more difficult getting the wire harness pushed through the grommet in the firewall. So, don't fight it, do yourself a favor and remove the DRIVER SIDE wheel well liner and DRIVER SIDE wheel and tire. I highly recommend the Mopar Power Steps though.
I'm like you. I don't trust dealers to do any work on my vehicles. I had read somewhere that if you self install the Mopar steps you might have to take it to dealer in order for them to work with uconnect. I'd like to know in case I ever switch...

Nope. Can either use a Tazer or add the button via AlfaOBD. Both options will have them working just like factory, no dealer needed.

How loud are the mopar steps? I just had them installed at a dealer and they seem pretty loud with a thump at the end.

Here is a video but you can’t really tell in the video but in real life they’re very loud. Also is that much wax necessary?

That’s normal.

Well its definitely normal. I had the 19 limited for a little over 3 years and zero issues with the steps. They sounded that way from the first day until I sold it and when I installed new steps on the 23 TRX, they sound exactly the same. No experience with the AMP

Sounds normal to me. I haven't noticed much noise difference between mopar and amp. I have mopar on a 22 3500 and amp on the trx

How much gap do you guys have with mopar? Picture?
