I know it’s been discussed but it’s hidden somewhere.

AMP no integration to the screen.
Mopar = integration.

AMP faster than mopar. Dual motors. Etc.

Anything else I’m missing?

What I really care about is which one will fit better? Anyone has ether one?

I’m also thinking about just an off road one. I don’t exactly like the truck with hidden side step. But I love the luxury idea of auto step.

How did you guys decide on this?

Following. Nothing to add but I'm deciding between the two myself. Was dead set on installing the Mopar Off Road Running Boards but I'm interested in the power boards. 😂

One more thing to keep in mind, is if you have the Mopar steps installed through a dealer, that dealership will warranty all work and flash it into your center screen. If you can find a dealership to install the AMP, obviously there will be warranty extended to you, if not you are on your own.

For me, I don't like the look of any steps or running boards. I prefer the clean look of no steps. However, it's a pain to get into this behemoth. So, I opted for the Mopar steps to get the needed functionality with little to no cosmetic trade-off. As for Amp vs Mopar, I had Amp steps on a previous GMC and loved them. I decided to go with the Mopar this time simply for the UConnect integration. You can't go wrong with either one, IMO.

I have the Mopar Steps... they are wonderful... one of the best things I did when i took delivery of the truck. From what I understand the AMP steps are equally nice. There was some discussion on here a year or two back that they may be manufactured in the same place... but either way, i don't think you can go wrong either way. From there it comes down to cost and warranty support... oh and if its dealer installed at the time you take delivery, you can finance them into the truck...

Expect to pay somewhere between $2100 and $2400 installed for the Mopar Power steps. Yes you can use a Mopar Service/Parts coupon, if there is one available.

Mopar integrated into the screen, amp is not. If Amp steps deploy faster... I'm not sure it matters... the Mopar ones are fully deployed by the time the door is open.

The nice thing about both of these relative to a fixed step is that they are a few inches lower, which means my wife and kids aren't hanging on the door handle/door to climb into the truck, its a natural step into the truck... my wife has even commented that despite my TRX being lifted, and with 37's, its easier for her to get in and out of than her Wrangler is.

Alot of folks went the fixed step route to protect against rocks being thrown up against the side of the vehicle by the tires... Frankly a good set of flaps all but eliminates this as an issue. I have the rokblox XL's... i like their aggressive look, they are rigid, but wont tear your fenders out off roading the way the Weathertechs will.

The deployable steps tuck away nicely... can be seen, but create a nice line to the vehicle rather than the off road steps which to me, look like a cheap aftermarket add on. As you said, the luxury idea... to me, the trx deserves a little better than a metal pipe bolted to its side.

just my $0.02.

If you’re self-installing, the Mopars took me about half the time the Amps did on my last truck. They come fully assembled so you just have to bolt on and wire up. They also don’t hog the OBD port.

I had Amp on my Bighorn. Just put the Mopar on the TRX last weekend. Prefer the Mopar over the Amp.
They might retract slower than amp, but I find when I go from the driver seat to the back door, they don't move up like the amps did and they stop mid way to go back down.
Definitely like the touchscreen integration too. They also stay out when i park if i want. Amps went back in I think in 30 mins. Plus keeps the obd port open.
And lastly there's a 15% off coupon on the Mopars from your dealer

I have the Amp steps. It was a toss-up for me…they’re basically the same for all intents and purposes. The Amp steps don’t have touch-screen functionality, but who really cares. When I want the boards to stay down permanently, I just put my foot on it after closing the door -and it says down until I open/close the door again.
I don’t care for the fact that it takes up the OBDII port though. It doesn’t affect anything really, I just don’t like it.
I self-installed it, and it was $1775 shipped during a sale (plus a rebate gift card).

My only worry about the mopar once is the dealer. I asked the sales person to add it to my invoice. He was almost arguing mopar don’t make auto once and only amp did. I told him I’ll come back next week and we can deal with it. Idiots

What a moron. I literally just bought my power mopar steps from my local dealer with Mopars 15% off coupon. Came out to $1,394 plus tax.
Here's the part # for them 82215287AG

That’s the exact part number I gave him. Because I saw it on a Facebook page yesterday. I don’t know if it was you who posted it or someone else.

He said that part number was not for auto steps and it’s not for crew cab or something like that. I don’t know what he was saying. I didn’t want to deal with it I’ll comeback and see the GM next week after they fix the other issues I had.

Very strange. Are they a dealer for Amp or something? Maybe they are trying to push their inventory

Just went into my dealer that services my Rebel and talked with the parts folks. They used that number and pulled up the power running boards and let me use the Mopar coupon. Total $1394 and they will hold them until my truck shows up. Great deal.

I too was having the same dilemma, AMP or MOPAR? Like many have already mentioned, what put my mind at ease was the warranty coverage, a piece of mind in the event something breaks or an issue arises from the integration.
* added bonus on the MOPAR boards was the RAM logo on the endcaps...

I bought the Mopar power steps and installed them myself on my 2022 TRX. Personally, I normally gravitate toward OEM most of the time. I can't speak for the AMP Steps but I will say that the fit and function of the Mopar power steps are perfect and after the install look just as they should, like they came installed from the factory and not some after thought. I just wish they were a factory installed option. Doing the install myself, I will say there is no way in HELL that I would allow a dealer to install them on my truck. I avoid dealers touching my vehicles at all cost if possible. If you plan to install them yourself, Butter Da Great has a very helpful install video on YouTube which I watched. The only thing I would add differently is I recommend removing the DRIVER SIDE wheel well liner and the DRIVER SIDE wheel and tire. It is possible to accomplish the task without removing the Driver Side, BUT, it makes the job more difficult getting the wire harness pushed through the grommet in the firewall. So, don't fight it, do yourself a favor and remove the DRIVER SIDE wheel well liner and DRIVER SIDE wheel and tire. I highly recommend the Mopar Power Steps though.

Where can I find the MOPAR coupon? Thanks

I decided on mopar powered running boards. Infotainment integration and warranty were my deciding factors. The 15% off coupon is great also. Thanks to everyone for your comments and opinions!
