DEAL $9000 off MSRP is back @ Granger Motors

Oooh! Who do I have to “back rub” to get my truck transported from the rail yard to the dealership lol.

Speaking of which. I have a contact that is doing enclosed trailer from granger to California for 2100.

If anyone needs a shipper, pm me and I’ll give you the contact.

Noticed mine is KZT status. Wondering how long from now it’s going to be ?? 🤔

It’s crazy how they keep jumping around my 10-22 order 🤣. Hopefully someday soon I can go D1. At this rate I may get my C8 first 🤣

Me too! I’m playing guessing games with the shipper at the moment!!

Should I expect to pay Iowa state sales tax? Then also pay sales tax in Texas?
No. Just when you get back to Texas.

This is from Amanda when I ordered…

Our fees are $180 DOC and $45 Transit... you pay sales tax and title the vehicle in your state.

Thanks for confirming! Is that how all dealers work if you buy from out of state?

Some will take care of the sales tax according to your home state. Just make sure you know your states laws. I had one dealer tell me my state requires sales tax on the MSPR and not the purchase price (which is not true).

I have found it depends on the state and the dealer. Best case is the way that Granger does it. "Here is your truck, now go take care of taxes yourself."

No. Some do collect their state/county tax and then you will pay the difference in your home state. Some will take the tax and remit to your home state on your behalf. Different laws by locality. Last time I bought out of state in Kansas I just had to send them a copy of the receipt from Texas when I registered in Denton County. They said they needed it for auditing purposes in the future.

@Zach@Granger Question for you. I am hearing that there is a change in laws starting first of year where lenders are requiring that dealership collect taxes for the state (out of state buyers) when the buyer finances through the dealership. Is that correct? I have had two different dealers (in Iowa) tell me that. I know you all are still saying you do not collect taxes. The dealers also said that if I just bring a check/cash that they don’t have to collect the taxes, and that it truly is a lender requirement. Hear anything like that?

I spoke to Cali tax office today and they said I just pay when I register truck In California.
So @Tell3131 that must be either not true or specific to your state,

Not all dealers are honest.

It seemed strange to me. Another dealer in Iowa (I am looking for a Rubicon and Granger doesn’t have any on the lot and don’t want to be on that waiting list too, lol) said that there is only their fee like Granger so they don’t have to collect taxes. It is just strange to me. Dealer did say that I can get my own financing or pay cash and then they don’t have to collect the taxes. The dealers are all in Iowa and I live in MO. Dealers in MO do not collect taxes when you buy, you pay when you go register with the DMV in MO.

And to clarify, MO does not require in state or out of state dealers to collect the tax, you pay it when you register. I know some states do have laws where they require the dealer to collect the tax, but to my knowledge Iowa does not require it of Missouri residents.

I haven't heard this.

I asked also as I would prefer to pay Iowa’s 5% rate vs Nevada’s mob 8.25%. Was given a quick no.
