@OnTheReel Have you heard of this brand? I was watching Dave's Auto Center on YT and he was promoting this filter. I plan to try it on my next oil change.

Looking for Fram XG2 or the RP 20-820. Anyone have ANY idea where to buy? Everything for the TRX seems to be out of stock . Oil change is fast approaching, but kind of hard with out the oil filter.

The supply of Fram FE2 and XG2 has dried up since their parent company filed for bankruptcy last year. However, Fram was bought out towards the end of March, so there may be a chance that production restarts in the future.

That sucks, I just used my last XG2 last weekend when I changed all my oils. Had no idea they went under and were bought out

I guess the only real option is the Mopar then correct? Unless someone has a better choice.

Even when Fram gets going again they’ve lost shelf space at so many retailers I really don’t know how it’s going to work. And Royal Purple seems to put no effort into keeping their filters in stock anywhere. Even when I initially reviewed one it took some hunting to get it. Makes no sense.

If you had to grab something local and really good build quality, the Purolator Boss is a tank. If you have time to order something in, the Amsoil or PPE are better choices. Or Wix 57063 if you want the old school SRT filter. The new one is a joke.

Oil filter market is a sad state of affairs in 2026. Massive amount of sub-par and just average filter options, very few exceptional ones.

One way to find filters might be to look for what's out there for the engine, more so than what the engine might be installed in.

Amsoil is best based on filtration efficiency and probably what I’d go with between those. Wix 57063 is basically the old “good” MO-041, also a good option.

Napa just is a China filter now. MO-899 and the current MO-041 are now the same damn thing but with different paint. They are “ok” in my opinion but definitely don’t spend more for the 041. It ain’t what it used to be.

I already have the Amsoil EA 011 filter and the O-40 Signature. Already have a vehicle that uses the same oil and the filter as the TRX. Been using it for almost 40 years.

Both the Amsoil filter and Signature Series oil have been reworked in the last couple months, incidentally. The only constant is change in this game. The filter world got turned upside down with First Brands going under and the majority of what I looked at here just 4 years ago are either unavailable or made by completely different companies now. Soon will be doing a re-hash of some of the old favorites. Basically just starting over and finding what’s still good, and what’s been enshitified.
