HOT! 2027 RAM TRX is Back as the Fastest and Most Powerful Production Gas Pickup Truck in the World

Advice for ordering a 2027 TRX SRT from one of the "RAM Forum discounted dealers" for someone who lives in a state that gives a Sales Tax credit for your trade in TRX?

Sales Tax credit in NV for a $90K trade in is $7,500. Add cost of shipping and.....

Mark Dodge does the paperwork for any state, so it doesn't matter (at least in Texas). State still gets their money as if it was purchased in-state. I traded an X7 M60i for my 23 TRX and recieved all of the credit. (And the next post - yes, always compare deals. In my case no TX dealers were under MSRP, so no brainer - and MD seems to give remarkably good trade values. But, as Louk points out, look at the deal components and go from there).

It’s all situation dependent.

In my instance, local dealers were giving me 50K for trade of my gen 2 Raptor
Granger was offering 52 ish.
Give me the vin offered 55ish

The tax savings went to zero after accounting for the added 3 grand in trade value compared to 50K trade in tax credit.

Do you have a vehicle which will be worth 90K at time of trade in? If so the 7500 in savings eats into the 10Kish discount.
You need to compare what each dealer gives you on trade, then also what are they charging for the new truck.
In my area dealers were 20-25K over sticker, so it wasn’t 10K discount only. It was 10K plus the 20K markup savings.

If you have a tow vehicle and a trailer, the cost for shipping is negligible.

Well for me it is, even at only 10 mpg for the tow vehicle, since I only spend money on fuel.
If you don't, do the math as Louk suggested.

So are these "RAM Forum discounted dealers" accepting long-distance trade-ins of your existing TRX as part of the deal?

How do you price the trade in long distance?

I can’t remember the last time I traded in a vehicle and the dealer saw it before the deal was actually done.

Send pictures, vin and get a price. Dealer gives the disclaimer that if the vehicle isn’t how you describe we renegotiate value. I keep very good care of my vehicles and am honest about condition, never had a single issue.

Yep. 10 pics, odo pic, VIN all about 2 weeks or so from delivery. Obviously, it needs to show up in the same condition with the agreed upon miles. It was easy. I lived in Austin, so about 5 hours away. No issues whatsoever.

No different than if selling to Carvana, GiveMetheVIN or other similar outfits that come and pickyour car up.

And the distance doesn't really factor in at all, other than that used values are different from zip code to zip code (areas of the country). You'd be selling at LA value, not what your zip code estimate is, which could be better or worse.

I was always under the impression that those places just give you wholesale pricing. But after some back & forth with GiveMetheVIN, I ended up getting within about $1000 of what I would have wanted to get for my '22 TRX. They came to pick up it up and I didn't deal with any of the Autotrader / Cars.com crowd, do any crazy detailing and was really easy. If you are LA area with that car market, I would at least give them a shot.

If you accept wholesale pricing, sure. A lot of folks do. They will all negotiate. Dealers included.

I got about $8K more from them than I had paid for my Trackhawk new.

Granted, I had got a good price from my dealer when buying it, but still.

I have 64k on my 21, I think I will be ready for a 2028. Please ram if you are listening:

  • Get rid of the outside red accents.
  • Bring back Hydro Blue!

I would still like to know in more detail how they achieved 75 more horse. It seems like a lot for better airflow and valve train improvements.

They just eliminated Hydro Blue as an available color, and it brought the average horsepower up enough to advertise it accordingly

That might very well partially be a an exercise on paper. The Challengers were notoriously underrated. If memory serves me my 707 hp is actually putting out 17 more. And just revving to an extra 100 rpm is good for several more hp.

Ok that hurt a little but it was funny! :ROFLMAO:
