2024 RAM TRX

Local dealer says the rep is telling them to expect '23 to be it for the TRX V8 and that will become official this summer. it's simply not profitable to keep it as a stand alone product .

Very sad to see what’s going on in the auto industry with the pussification of vehicles by way of govt mandates. Free market was fun while it lasted. Im just holding on to a small amount of hope that this will pass, and a future administration can reign in the EPA and its climate warriors so we can continue to buy vehicles we actually want.

It's hard to say with changing economic times and gas prices if the TRX was going to survive anyway. the market for 100+k gas hogs is pretty small in the big picture and it's all about volume with huge companies. I look at it just like the end of the muscle car era in 1971, but this time technology isn't going to bring the v8 back.

I get that the market for $100k half ton trucks may be small, but TRX aside, the truck market in general is huge. And I feel that a lot of truck lovers also enjoy the dependability and power of a simple, naturally aspirated V8 as opposed to a turbo 4, 6 or some hybrid/electric combo. Just sucks that this option is being taken away when there is till plenty of demand for it.

Depends on what you call demand, how many pickups did Ram sell this year and how many were TRX's ?

Market share is only part of it, changing regulations will seal the deal.

I said TRX aside. You don’t think there is demand for half ton pickups in America? I guess we live in two different Americas lol. I am not even talking about Ram in particular. All pickup brands are slowly phasing out the V8 while there is still plenty of demand for it to be a viable engine option. And you are right. Regulations are what is killing the V8, not lack of interest from consumers. That was my entire point. I will miss the rumble of a good ole V8

Actually in my area heavy pickups far outsell half tons but you're right nationally they're the biggest seller. as far as v8's go there's a market but if a twin cylinder produced good power and got better MPG 90% of buyers would buy it. look how many 6 cyl F150's Ford sells. yes I'll miss the V8's, just like I miss the triple's in sleds. but in the end the twins are superior if you can stand the sound of them.

But for the TRX the curtain is closing. if you don't order soon you might be buying a used one next year.

Well I have my 21 and IF they make a 2024 I'll buy one if not then at least I got my 2021. The truck is soooo much fun. If you do not have one yet then don't wait in case they change there mind about 2024 TRX's with the 6.2. I will not buy another one unless it's a v8 and has at least 700 HP.

As I mentioned in a previous post. IF the 23s or 24s end up being it for the TRX with a hellcat motor we only need to look at what the 23 Charger and Challenger hellcat prices are. No big discounts on them, and many people scrambled just to pay sticker (many folks ended up paying above sticker for their order).

I think 23s are gonne be it. I'll be very surprised to see Ram offering a 24 model since I bet the demand for these brand new will bottom out due to interest rates, fuel prices and the credit crunch.

I'm not sure if this was posted on this thread or another. it's not encouraging for next year.
