2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170: A Wicked Quick, 1,025-HP Hell Yeah!

Kinda interesting that even the Dodge engineers needed e85 to hit 1000hp with a 3.0L blower on a fully forged bottom end. Really lets you know the limits of pump gas.

Pump tune makes 900hp I believe they said. Great to see you can have a 900hp pump gas warrantied car.

Called my local dealer last week, where the sales manager is a long time friend.
Their allocation of 2 cars was sold before it was announced. Standing offer to buy "the latest-greatest" from 2 of their top fleet customers (buying 100+ trucks per year). But they sold both at MSRP, no AMD.
It does happen, but not for us mere mortals !!!!!!!!!!!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Just gotta spend 10M a year to get a car at MSRP.

He wouldn't tell me either, saw he was from Pittsburgh so called a few around there and were all gone. If anyone knows of 50k or less over let me know. Just can't stomach 100k over for this car.

Yep I snoozed and I lost. It’s spoken for. I was out of town on a trip up the Adirondacks when the manager told me I had a chance to put my name on it and I didn’t get back to him until this afternoon.

426 never received emission approval.
Dodge has been working on the 1025HP E85 6.2 since the 2019 Redeyes came out.
Kind of gathered that when the 426 50th didn't happen.
But Ram really needs a new gasser V8. The 392 isn't on par with the 6.6L GM and 7.3L Furd

One dealer here that I bought 3 work vans from called me back and said they offered the car to a customer who buys 20 vans/trucks a year at minimum.
I asked the markup and they replied no markup for that individual ever.

Nice to know they realized that pissing off a great customer like that wouldn't be good long term.

Not disagreeing. We dont know the future of the V8 in the 3/4 ton trucks. It all depends on GOV regs / fuel efficiency standards for those models, which are usually a bit less restrictive. I dont think we will see any more V8s in the 1/2 ton trucks.

They just keep calling me now "The bid is at $100 thousand, $110 thousand, $130 thousand" blah blah blah. Other than obvious price fixing, where are people getting an extra 100k from? 2nd mortgage or something?

March is when the executive bonuses are awarded, and RSU's are vested .

Its all cash buyers, tons of money guys bidding. Figure a new jet or yacht will run you about 40-70 million ++ so a 300K car to those guys is spare change really

There is a lot of truth to this.

As someone who services wealthy entrepreneurs I see it all the time. They took the risk, have had good years and bad years, and when things are going well they treat themselves. Had a client who cashed out for about $40 million. He was driving a beater car for years and once I had dinner with him and his card was declined LOL. After he hit it big he and his wife told me, "our lives won't change." Next thing you know he has an Aston Martin, a 2nd house in Whistler, yada yada yada. At least in the Seattle area there is obscene wealth in the area.

One client of mine who started an online ad agency just picked up this Lambo. Met him for lunch at an auto country club (where big ballers store their cars and chill out). He invited me to lunch and casually mentioned he wanted to meet there as his lamb was coming. Boys and their toys.

All the Microsoft and Amazon Millionaires there...I was in Belvue a few years back...it seemed like the Ferraris and Lambos were like the Honda Civics at some of the intersections.

A 3 months summer internship on wallstreet is paid $150 per hour plus housing
Intel pays $50-$100
MS about the same etc
If they pay 18-19 year olds this much you should realize the obscene ammount of cash some executives earn. Do they deserve it? Heck ya but 100k is peanuts when they pay that much their undergrad interns . My son made 6 figures in less than a year of working (2 summers and taking a semester off).

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan Duncan early in my career through someone I worked with that was a family friend of his family. His Trophy room was and still is bigger than my house. I think he was not that flashy with his vehicles. For a short time. I just was in awe. the thought of "wow so this is what it is like to be a Billionaire."
