I struggled to keep this under control initially since I didn't have a COMPLETE listing of all members so I added a section to my program to pull a total list of all members daily so that I had accurate naming for including users in the daily updates.
The Tracker at the top includes a large number of FaceBook users, other dealerships, etc that aren't forum members so I wont include those in these numbers.
In my daily user scan I log the last time the user logged in as well as the number of posts they have made, if the user hasn't logged in since August of last year or has never made a post then I assume I couldn't have their VIN. I then manually read through posts and any user that claimed to be a dealership etc I marked with a VIN of 0 telling me not to expect to ever have a VIN for that member. If a user joined and made a statement such as, "Hi, Just joining to look around, keep up with news and plan to order a 2022 truck next fall" I marked them with a VIN 1 to tell me not to look at them for a while but that they could have a VIN in the future.
83 are Dealers or "Next year" buyers so far. 57 members created accounts starting in early 2020 and haven't logged in since August 18th so I drop them as well. As of this morning, there are 365 members who have joined and never made a single post so I assume
At the end of the day, I have VINs for 538 forum members of the potential 722. I am constantly scanning the threads of the remaining 184 members just incase one of them posts a random message in a random thread with their VIN. I am super stoked when a new member joins and immediately lists their VIN cause I get to mark them off my lists instantly and don't have to keep scanning for days to decide how to classify that member.
